Daisy’s pregnant with someone else’s pup. I’m beyond enraged but not at her. I can tell based on her mannerisms that she’s telling the truth and that this was forced on her. Seeing her sob breaks my heart because I know she must be hurting so much.

When I take her hand, she flinches and looks up at me. She’s so afraid of being rejected and tossed aside again. I wish I could erase her past so she didn’t have to suffer so much.

“I’m not mad at you,” I assure her first and kiss the back of her hand. “This isn’t your fault. Everything that happened to you was never your fault. I will be here with you every step of the way. Whatever you decide… I’ll respect your decision and even help you raise it.” Every word is sincere. Whether or not she gets rid of the pup or not, I have no reason to judge her.

Daisy sniffles and rubs her eyes. “W-why… why are you being so nice to me…?” She asks and her tone breaks my heart. She’s so submissive and beaten down. Even like this though I know she’ll be a wonderful Luna. She just has to work hard and gain her footing and confidence. “I’m nothing but a weak wolf who’s unlovable so why…?”

“You’re not unlovable,” I say firmly and look into her eyes. “I’m not just nice because you’re my mate. It’s because you deserve it. You didn’t ask for any of this.” I smile gently. “Whatever you choose, I’m here for you. I’ll even raise the pup as my own.”

Daisy’s eyes widen in surprise. “W-what? Y-you will?” I nod and she bites her lip. “W-would you hate me if… I got rid of it?” She asks timidly. “Before it’s born I mean… there’s medicine for it right?”

Olivia speaks up and it’s then that I realize I had forgotten she was even there. “Yes there is but it comes with risks of its own. You could lose your ability to have more children.” Daisy pales and I feel a jolt of anxiety. “I would do everything in my power to stop that from happening of course but there’s always risk. I just thought I’d let you know.”

Daisy stares down at her lap and stays silent. “I won’t push you one way or the other. I assume she’s about a month along right?” I ask Olivia just wanting to gain more information about this situation.

“That’s my guess if that’s the only time she’s been sexually active.” Olivia pauses as she nods quickly to confirm it. “You’ll need to start eating more regardless of what you choose. You’re very malnourished and thin. I’m sure our Alpha here will make sure of it. Do you have any more questions?”

Daisy doesn’t move for a moment. “I don’t think so… can you give me some time to decide what I want to do? Maybe just by the end of the day today?” She asks.

“Of course, dear, take all the time you need. Focus on gaining strength for now.” Olivia stands up and smiles. “Call me when she makes her decision and we can talk about the next steps from there.” She tells me before leaving.

Now that the two of us are alone, I clear my throat. “Are you hungry? I’ll make you a sandwich if you want.” I offer. Daisy looks at me and tilts her head. “I made Naomi one last night. Roast beef.”

Daisy hesitates. “I can make us something… I was responsible for cooking pack meals.” I frown as I don’t want to force her but she continues. “I can make some eggs and bacon. Maybe some pancakes too. A real breakfast.” Her stomach growls when she says pancakes and she blushes in embarrassment.

She’s so cute like this and it makes me smile. “Fine. Just for the two of us though. I want to help too. And I won’t take no for an answer.” I say firmly when she opens her mouth in protest.

“… Ok,” Daisy says in a shy voice. “Should we go to the mess hall then? Or are there too many people there right now?”

This makes me stop and think. I will need to announce to the pack that I found my second chance mate and introduce her as well. It feels too soon right now though I’m sure the patrol has told everyone about Daisy by now.

“I’ll have someone bring us the ingredients here.” I decide and smile. “That way we can make our food here and you can be more comfortable. You seem nervous already and I don’t know to make it any worse for you.”
