The Ash Queen's Return: Reclaiming Her Crown novel Chapter 13

Natalie explained calmly. "The old man had a sudden heart attack, and I've already administered emergency care. The ambulance will be here soon, and he needs to be sent to the hospital right away for further treatment."

The man looked doubtful, but since his father looked much better than he had earlier, his attitude softened. "Thank you. Are you—"

"I'm a doctor."

Natalie did not reveal any more information. She merely stood up and put the bottles of medicine back in her bag.

They soon heard the wail of ambulance sirens nearby. "The ambulance is here. I'll get going."

The medical staff arrived swiftly and took over with the old man.

They lifted him onto a stretcher, and the man followed hastily. Before leaving, he turned back and gave Natalie a long look.

"Thank you for today. I'll be sure to visit you personally some other day to thank you."

Natalie inclined her head slightly and did not say much.

Her gaze swept over the Patek Philippe watch on the man's wrist and the cufflinks on his custom-made suit. It was clear that he was not from an ordinary family.

When the crowd had dispersed, Natalie looked down at her phone.

Lennox just sent a message. "Boss, I've looked into it. The one who made the order on the black market is the hospital director of the Hurrells' private hospital. Horatio was the one who gave the order."

Natalie looked solemn. It was Horatio after all. It seemed that Estella's condition was even trickier than she had thought.

Natalie's eyes brimmed with a mix of conflicting emotions.

She replied to Lennox very quickly, "Keep watching the Hurrells. If anything happens, tell me at once."

After sending her response, Natalie put her phone away and turned to leave.

As she had been replying to Lennox's message, she did not notice a black Maybach was parked at the roadside.

The window of the car rolled down, and Horatio's handsome, chiseled face appeared.

Horatio hadn't expected to meet Natalie again. What a coincidence.

Earlier, she appeared to be resuscitating a patient lying on the ground.

Although Horatio had been some distance away, he had seen everything very clearly. The woman had looked calm and unruffled, and she was as professional as a doctor.

Horatio narrowed his eyes slightly in a thoughtful manner. He knew she was no ordinary woman. What other unknown talents was she hiding?

When Natalie got home, she took out her phone to charge it and suddenly saw that she had over ten missed calls.

Perhaps she had accidentally set her phone to silent mode when she put it in her bag.

Natalie opened it and saw that apart from calls from the Lunsfords, there was actually a call from Charlotte Lunsford, Natalie's aunt on her father's side.

Charlotte had treated Natalie very well over the years. Among the Lunsfords, she was the one who showed Natalie the most concern.

Charlotte felt sorry for Natalie, who had lost her mother at such a young age, so she often bought her things. Therefore, Natalie had a fairly good relationship with her.
