"Indeed, it's Charlotte." Stephen continued, "I heard this operation is very risky, and Dr. N is the only one who's bold enough to take it on."
Horatio's gaze turned intense.
"Mr. Hurrell, I've already asked the hospital director if he can try and ask Dr. N to do a consultation for Estella—" Stephen broke into Horatio's thoughts.
"Alright. Thank you," Horatio said gratefully.
Even after ending the call, Horatio still could not calm down. He suddenly thought of something. Who invited Dr. N for the operation?
It couldn't have been the hospital. If it had been them, they would have arranged an operation for Estella long ago.
The Lunsfords must have contacted Dr. N. Horatio could try to ask Walter.
…
Over the weekend, Natalie helped Charlotte build up her strength. Audrey and Walter had not visited Charlotte ever since their little spat with Natalie in the ward.
"Natalie…" Charlotte suddenly opened her eyes and took Natalie's hand weakly. "Don't tire yourself out."
"I'm not tired, Aunt Charlotte."
Natalie smiled and shook her head. "Have a good rest. Tomorrow's operation will definitely be a success."
The operation the next day would take up a great deal of strength, so Natalie also needed to have a good rest.
"Okay. I'll work hard to keep living. I want to see you get married and have children," Charlotte said.
Natalie nodded and said, "I'm sure you will."
Once Charlotte had fallen asleep, Natalie went home to rest.
On Monday morning, Natalie walked energetically toward the hospital room. She would visit Charlotte before getting ready for the operation.
Natalie had just reached the door of the hospital room when she heard the sound of bickering inside.
"Charlotte, if you want Professor Yates to operate on you, make Natalie sign the transfer agreement for Nebula Pharmaceutical. If you don't, then don't blame me for disregarding our sibling bond."
Walter was clearly agitated. He had been waiting at home for the past two days for Natalie to change her mind and agree to his request. However, two days had passed without any news at all.
Natalie was far too ruthless. She had been completely unmoved by the illness of her aunt, who loved her so much. She was clearly cold-blooded!
That was a rare chance for Walter to control her, which was why he was going to fight until the end for it.
"Walt, I am so disappointed in you. How could you be so ruthless? Natalie's your daughter too! How could you be so biased?
"I'd rather die than ask Natalie to do that, so give up on the idea. Besides, Natalie has already found a skilled doctor to operate on me," Charlotte said sharply.
"What? Are you insane? What kind of doctor can that woman get you?" Walter sounded dismissive.
"Walt, don't interfere in my affairs." Charlotte's voice was weak but very firm.
Natalie pushed the door open, and her expression darkened when she saw Walter and Audrey standing by the hospital bed.
