Cole felt as if he had been given a second chance at life. His face was still streaked with tears as he scrambled to his feet.

He led Emily through the luxurious halls, moving with familiarity until they reached the end of a hallway.

The private booth was named, “Heaven No. 1.” Cole pushed open the heavy doors, revealing Damien sitting on the couch in the smoky room within.

He looked toward the door when he heard it opening, his hazy eyes greedily gleaming when he got a good look at Emily’s face.

He unwaveringly stared at her, not sparing even a single glance at Cole who was standing next to her.

“Not bad, Cole,” he said, letting out a crude laugh and leisurely breathing out a ring of smoke. His eyes were still trained on Emily as he said, “You were really willing to sell your own sister for money.

Instantly, Emily felt like she had been struck by lightning.

What did Damien mean by that?

She stiffly turned her head to look at Cole.

Cole’s face had turned as white as a sheet. There was a panicked glint in his eyes, and he didn’t dare

make eye contact with her.

So, he didn’t bring her here to repay his debt. Instead, he had brought her here to sell her.

Emily couldn’t believe that her own brother would do that to her.

Meanwhile, Cole stood rooted to the spot. Emily’s gaze was like a dagger piercing his heart. He didn’t dare look at her, but the overwhelming desire to gamble continued to rage within him.

As long as he got some money, he would be able to earn more. And once he had won back all the money he had lost, he would be able to save Emily. He was convinced that he could.

Steeling his resolve, Cole looked at Damien. “Damien, about the money…

Damien barked out a laugh as he retrieved a card and carelessly tossed it onto the table. “The password is six eights.”

Cole lunged at the table and snatched up the card. He then turned on his heel and rushed out of the door, as if he was being chased by a horde of ghosts. He didn’t stop for even a second as he passed Emily by.

“Emily…” he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper, before he disappeared out of the door.

Sound finally returned to Emily’s world, but she felt like her entire body had been frozen.

She turned around and tried to leave the nauseating place. However, two muscular men in black suits emotionlessly stood before the door, blocking her path.

“Please wait, Ms. Sterling.”

Emily froze in place. Then, she turned her head and coldly looked at Damien.

Damien rose to his feet and approached her, no longer bothering to hide his wicked and greedy expression. “Your brother has sold you to me, so you’re mine now. As long as you obediently follow my orders, I promise that you’ll live a comfortable and carefree life.”

Just the sound of his voice made Emily feel sick to her stomach. She was utterly disgusted, and her eyes were filled with nothing but loathing as she looked at him. There wasn’t even a hint of fear in her gaze.

“Keep dreaming,” she spat.

The smile on Damien’s face stiffened. Emily looked so weak, so he didn’t expect her to be so

stubborn.

But this only made him like her even more. He found it even more satisfying to conquer a thorny rose like her. “You’ve got quite the mouth on you,” he said as he reached out, wanting to touch her face.

But Emily swiftly took a few steps back, dodging out of the way of his filthy hands. “Don’t touch me!”

Damien’s face darkened. He was offering her an olive branch, and yet she had chosen to spit his

kindness back in his face.

Having reached the end of his patience, Damien’s eyes turned fierce. “Do you still think of yourself as Mrs. Holton?” he asked. “You’re nothing more than a woman who has been tossed aside by her

husband.

“How dare you act all high-and-mighty in front of me? You have no choice but to do as I say today, no matter if you want to or not!”

Damien lunged at Emily, intending to grab her. But suddenly, the door to the private booth was slammed open from the outside.
