Rebecca couldn't be bothered with Katherine and turned to go inside.
But when she reached the door, the security guard asked for her invitation.
Rebecca frowned. Crap. The invitation was with Dylan, but he had something urgent come up and told her to go ahead first.
"I can't go in without an invitation?" she asked.
The guard apologized, "I'm sorry, ma'am, but you need an invitation to enter. Or you could find someone with an invitation to bring you in."
The guard's tone was respectful, but his words left no room for negotiation. These were the rules of the business conference, and he was just following them.
Rebecca sighed. It seemed she'd have to wait for Dylan.
She stood helplessly to the side, pulling out her phone to message Dylan about the situation.
This, of course, gave Katherine the perfect opportunity to mock her.
Katherine's laughter rang out. "Hahaha, Rebecca, I knew you were here to hunt for a man! You don't even have an invitation. Are you planning to just latch onto some random guy to get in for free?"
Then she turned to the guard and warned, "Security, you'd better keep an eye on her. This woman is up to no good; she's here to seduce men."
She deliberately raised her voice, as if afraid the people around wouldn't hear, her expression dripping with malice.
Rebecca frowned. "Katherine, stop talking nonsense."
Katherine put her hands on her hips. "Nonsense? If you think I'm talking nonsense, then show me your invitation."
"Weren't you just bragging about being some kind of phoenix? And you can't even produce an invitation? Hahaha, no matter how sophisticated you pretend to be, you're still just a low-life. You'll never be better than me."
Just then, Hogan and Jane arrived.
Hogan said in a low voice, "Kathy, stop making a scene. People are watching."
