Cordelia buzzed Brenda's phone, checking if she was free on Saturday. Brenda's reply was swift and tinged with humor, "Yup, I'm as single as they come, always available."

"Great, Saturday it is then, at the Grandview Estates. Don't stand me up, okay?" Cordelia said before texting Brenda the address to Victoria's place.

Cordelia and Brenda headed to Victoria's together, and even though Cordelia had been there before, she couldn't help but gasp at the opulent décor of her friend's home. Designer pieces from around the globe graced every corner, leaving Brenda in awe. The place wasn't huge, a cozy 120 square meters, but it was filled with delightful surprises. Even Callum couldn't help but admit he was a tad jealous of Victoria's collection of cool knick-knacks.

"Mrs. Bell sure has a killer taste. I mean, check out this chic interior," Cordelia couldn't help but admire.

Victoria's mother, Cicely, was the renowned founder of "Creek" beauty treatments, a household name among the elite. They were quite well-off.

"It's just home," Victoria shrugged off the compliments. Ever since Harold had left the service, her demeanor had turned sour, a mix of guilt and the blows to her pride she'd taken from him.

Brooklyn joined them too, and the group, along with Callum, indulged in a potluck, washing down heaps of comfort food with an assortment of sodas and juices.

Eyeing Victoria's slender frame, Brenda asked bluntly, "Got a boyfriend yet?"

Victoria took the question seriously, "Nope."

"How about I set you up with someone?" Brenda's eyes sparkled with mischief. "Just don't snub him because he's not as well-off or doesn't have a cushy job like you. He's one of my crew."

Cordelia knew immediately Brenda was referring to Harold, but she stayed silent, curious about Victoria's reaction.

"Let's not," Victoria replied, her voice devoid of enthusiasm. "Mom's pushing me towards Daniel, that investment banker guy. She's pretty insistent, so that's probably my life sorted. Your guy? I'll pass."
