Cordelia stared at the pregnancy test, her eyes locking onto the unmistakable double line. She was pregnant.

At first, she didn't know what to feel; maybe he would be thrilled, but Cordelia wasn't quite sure about her own emotions.

Still, when she got home, she decided to tell Ronan the news straight up.

"I'm pregnant," she said plainly.

"Pregnant..." Ronan's eyes widened as reality hit him. "You mean, with a baby?"

"Yeah."

He had been lounging on the couch, but at her words, he jumped up and walked over to her, his hands gently resting on her shoulders, his eyes shining with surprise and joy. "Really?"

"Yes."

"You're not happy about it?"

"It's not that I'm unhappy, it's just... there's so much going on. I haven't had the chance to process it all. Besides, it's not my first time around, so I don't have that... excitement." Cordelia paused, realizing that even the first time hadn't been a happy occasion for her. She hadn't even told Ronan the child was his. In a strict sense, this was the first time he was aware of her pregnancy. Looking up at him, she said, "About last time, I'm sorry."

"It's okay. Just no more surprises this time, alright?"

"What could possibly go wrong?" Cordelia replied nonchalantly. "We've been together the whole time, no family drama this round. We understand each other now, right? It's all good."

"You planning to keep attending classes?" Ronan asked, concerned.

He was particularly protective of this second child and wanted Cordelia to take it easy for the baby's sake.

"Of course, I'll continue. Mom's activities are important." Noticing the excitement in Ronan's eyes, she teased, "Do you want a boy or a girl?"
