When he had first approached Ann, Mr. Banks had just been taking a shot in the dark. After all, Ann and Tammie weren't related by blood, and he had no idea if she could actually pull it off.
Now, it was clear that Tammie was far more foolish than he could have ever imagined. He had allowed Ann to get her hands on something as critical as his design drafts with such ease. It was laughable.
Seeing the designs, Asher's eyes lit up as well. He had to admit, Tammie's work was something else. It wasn't just for women; even he, a man, felt an impulse to buy it. The greatest success for a jewelry designer was to make customers willingly open their wallets, and Tammie had done it. He had done it masterfully.
Asher beamed. "Congratulations, Mr. Banks. It looks like this year's jewelry award is destined for The Banks Group!"
Mr. Banks let out a booming laugh. Even before seeing the designs, he knew that anything Tammie and Benedict Quinn created would be in a league of its own. Now that he had seen them, his confidence was absolute. The designs weren't just worth eighty million—they were worth a hundred million, and it would still be a bargain.
He turned to Asher. "Fletcher, your contribution to this has been immense. Once the company goes public, I'll be sure to give you a significant promotion."
"Thank you for the opportunity, Mr. Banks," Asher said with a respectful bow. "By the way, Ann also mentioned that Tammie plans to release the concept images in four days."
"Four days," Mr. Banks mused, glancing at the calendar on his desk. "That is indeed a fine day." A fine day to watch Tammie's hopes turn to dust.
The thought sent a thrill through him. The Banks Group had been overshadowed by CL Jewels for three long years. He had dreamed of toppling them, and now, he couldn't believe how quickly that day had come.
Seeing the time, he shot out of bed, rushed through his morning routine, and headed downstairs. He found Lindy, the housekeeper, cleaning the living room.
"Good morning, sir."
Lindy greeted him cheerfully.
Tammie rubbed his head, feeling a bit groggy, likely from oversleeping. "Lindy, why didn't you wake me up this morning?"
