Caitlin's phone rang.

She answered it. "Hello? Okay, I'll be right there."

Hanging up, Caitlin turned to Carey and Keira. "Mom, Grandma, the R&D department has an urgent meeting. I have to go."

With that, she grabbed her bag and headed out.

Watching Caitlin's retreating figure, Keira turned to Carey. "Carey, do you believe that all that money came from Gordon?"

Carey shook her head. "It's probably all our Freya's own money."

Keira's eyes lit up. "See, we're on the same page!"

Carey continued, "But from the way Freya looks at him, she's clearly in love with Gordon. Mom, this is going to be difficult."

The love in a person's eyes can't be hidden. Carey had been through it herself.

Keira rubbed her temples. "Don't worry. How long have they been together? They're in the honeymoon phase, so Freya is willing to overlook all of Gordon's flaws. But over time, she'll surely realize something is wrong. She'll dump him eventually."

Carey nodded, thinking Keira had a point.

Old Mrs. Somerset stumbled back several steps. "How could this be? Why would Mr. Sylvester fall for a divorcee!"

Before mother and son could process the shock, the butler ran in from outside.

"Mrs. Somerset, Mr. Somerset! Sir, it's terrible!"

"What is it? Why are you in such a panic?" Jeremiah had a bellyful of rage with nowhere to vent it. "Ladd, is this your first day working for the Somerset family?"

The butler glanced at Jeremiah and continued, "Sir, the... the police are here."

Police?

Almost as soon as the butler finished speaking, a group of police officers filed in. "Jeremiah Somerset? We're from the criminal investigation unit. You are a suspect in the disappearance of a young woman. Please come with us."

Before Jeremiah and Old Mrs. Somerset could react, another group of people in uniform entered.
