THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 975

The plaintiff: Keeley Prescott.

The court date was set for three days from now.

Only then did the four brothers truly believe it: Keeley was suing them.

They held an emergency meeting at Trevor's house that night. Finn pointed an accusing finger at Sloan. "This is all your fault! If you hadn't tricked Uncle Keeley out of that last million and then refused to take care of him, he never would have sued us!"

Millard nodded in agreement. "He's right, it's all your fault!"

"Finn and Millard are right. You're to blame for this!" Trevor's brow was deeply furrowed. "Sloan, you have to have a conscience. Uncle Keeley gave you the last of his money. How could you just throw him out? You're a heartless wolf!"

Accused by his three older brothers, Sloan felt both wronged and furious. "What do you mean it's all my fault? So I got an extra hundred grand, big deal! You act like you didn't get any money! Don't forget, after he left my place, he went to you guys too! If you hadn't ignored him, would things have gotten this ugly? You call me a heartless wolf? What does that make you?"

Soon, the four brothers were in a heated argument, blaming one another in a chaotic mess.

Floy, Trevor's wife, stepped in. "Alright, that's enough! Stop fighting! This isn't the time for this. The hearing is in three days. If you don't show up, the court will enforce the repayment! Uncle Keeley can be won over. If the court rules for him, we'll have to find a way to soften his stance and get him to forgive us. We need him on our side. We can't let him take our money! If we have to, we'll stick to the original plan: each family takes him in for half a year until he dies."

Floy knew exactly what Keeley wanted: family and the company of his nephews. So, if they apologized sincerely, Keeley would surely forgive them. Besides, what did he need all that money for at his age? It would all end up with them, his nephews, anyway.

Finn spoke up. "If you want us to take care of Keeley, fine! But Sloan has to put up that extra million, and we split it four ways, twenty-five thousand each! Otherwise, I'm not doing it."

"Finn's right, Sloan has to share that money!" the others chimed in.

Sloan was reluctant. "Why should I? Keeley gave it to me, so it's mine! Why should I have to split it with you?"
