The Ex-Wife's Triumph novel Chapter 112

She didn't hesitate. She raised her hand and delivered a crisp, hard slap across Kingsley's face. "Kingsley, let go!"

The force of the slap was heavy, leaving Kingsley momentarily stunned.

He recovered and looked up at Lucy. Dark fire churned in his ink-black eyes. He pressed his tongue against his stinging cheek, his tone displeased. "What? Protecting him now?"

Lucy didn't answer him. Seeing he hadn't let go, she reached out and forcefully pried his fingers open one by one.

"Kingsley, if you touch the people around me again, I'll fight you to the death!"

Her voice was cold, her eyes frosty, every word a warning.

Wyatt straightened his crumpled collar and glared at Kingsley indignantly. "I'll settle the score for today sooner or later!"

Kingsley glanced at the two of them and scoffed. "I'm waiting."

His gaze then fell back on Lucy. "Does Jules know you're protecting him like this?"

Lucy couldn't be bothered to respond. She grabbed Wyatt and turned to walk upstairs, leaving Kingsley with a resolute view of her back.

Kingsley watched the hand Lucy used to hold Wyatt's arm, finding it incredibly piercing to his eyes.

He took out his phone and checked his reflection in the screen. Five clear finger marks stood out on his left cheek, red and burning.

He immediately called Shane. When the call connected, his voice was cold enough to freeze water. "Have Director Howard handle the social engagement."

Although confused, Shane immediately agreed. "Understood."

"If you want me to pull my investment, just say so. I'll oblige you," Kingsley threatened coldly.

Ethan's laughter cut off abruptly, and he became serious. "Where do I send it? Your residence in Switzerland?"

Kingsley gave a low "Mm."

Ethan couldn't curb his curiosity and probed, "Why run off to Switzerland all of a sudden? Don't tell me you got beaten up by your ex-wife... No, that doesn't make sense. Your ex-wife wouldn't even bother to..."

Before he could say "acknowledge you," Kingsley cut him off coldly. "If I don't see the ointment in fifteen minutes, I'm pulling the capital immediately."

With that, he hung up the phone.
