Back in the private room, Lucy felt her palm burning.
Jane glanced at the two of them, her tone knowing. "Everything okay?"
Wyatt scratched his head, his cheeks slightly flushed, his voice filled with embarrassment. "It's fine, it's fine!"
As he spoke, he turned to Lucy, his eyes docile and his voice lowered. "Lucy, I'm sorry!"
Lucy smiled slightly and gently patted his arm. "It's okay. I know you meant well."
Hearing this, Wyatt immediately straightened his back and guaranteed solemnly, "Lucy, don't worry! I'll sign up for boxing lessons when I get back and train hard. Next time I see him, I'll definitely beat him until he's crawling on the floor!"
"Sure, I support you!" Jane chimed in, a teasing smile in her eyes.
Beside them, Molly tilted her little head and tugged at the corner of Wyatt's shirt. "Uncle Sterling, who are you going to beat up?"
"Beat the scum..."
Wyatt stopped abruptly, twisting his words at the last second as he smiled and ruffled Molly's hair. "Beat... beat the bad guys who bully people."
Molly nodded, seemingly understanding but still frowning slightly.
At that moment, Seven, sitting in his high chair, was drinking milk from a sippy cup. He finished it in no time. He slammed the cup onto the table and called out in his baby voice, "Momma, want..."
Lucy picked up the milk carton to refill his cup and gently tapped his little nose. "Once this is finished, that's it."
Seven nodded obediently, his small hands gripping the cup again.
Jane pushed the menu toward Wyatt and lifted her chin. "Order whatever you like. Lucy is treating."
Wyatt's eyes lit up, and he immediately picked up the pen. "Then I won't be polite!"
Just as Kingsley was about to nap, the doorbell rang.
The servant opened the door quickly, revealing Thurston standing there, shaking a bag of fruit in his hand. "Where's your boss?"
"Mr. Sherwood is resting," the servant replied respectfully, stepping aside to let him in.
Thurston walked into the living room and saw Kingsley resting on the sofa with his eyes closed.
As soon as his gaze swept over the clear finger marks on Kingsley's left cheek, he laughed out loud. " haven't seen you for just over two hours, Mr. Sherwood. Who did you provoke to get your face messed up like that? Who has the guts to slap you? Tell me so I can meet them."
Kingsley slowly opened his eyes. His gaze was cold and heavy, his tone flat. "Why are you here?"
"Heard you were injured, so I bought fruit specifically to visit you."
Thurston snapped a banana off the bunch in the bag and handed it over, a teasing smile on his lips. "Want some? But looking at you, I'm not sure you can manage it. Eating might hurt."
