The Ex-Wife's Triumph novel Chapter 133

"If you ask me, she's a genuine treasure." Peter added.

Kingsley lifted his gaze to glance at him, his voice cold as ice. "Whether she's a treasure or not has nothing to do with you."

"True, it has nothing to do with me," Peter retorted, unafraid of death, "but it seems it has nothing to do with you anymore, either."

The moment the words left his mouth, he met Kingsley's suddenly darkened face. Peter instantly wisely shut his mouth and turned to walk toward Lucy—if he stayed any longer, he'd get pummeled.

He approached with a few quick steps, clapping his hands in praise. "Miss Lucy, your skill is truly breathtaking. I'm starting to wonder, is there anything you can't do?"

Lucy tugged at the corner of her mouth, her smile holding a hint of self-mockery. "There is. I don't know how to identify scumbags."

Peter responded casually, "It's fine. In a woman's life, you're bound to meet a scumbag or two. Consider it a growing experience."

Just as he finished speaking, he suddenly felt a chill on the back of his neck. A cold sensation crawled up his spine, numbing him entirely—he didn't need to look to know it was Kingsley's murderous glare.

Lucy seemed not to notice, smiling as she agreed, "True enough."

With that, she handed the club to the caddie beside her.

Mr. Smith leaned in with a smile, his tone suggesting a matchmaking attempt. "Miss Lucy, are you single right now? Are you planning to look for a partner?"

Lucy replied nonchalantly, "I'm open to it. I don't have any specific requirements."

"Then I think you and Mr. Sherwood should give it a try," Smith said, increasingly convinced of the match. "You're both single, from the same country, no cultural barriers... what a perfect pair."

Beside them, Peter almost suffered internal injuries trying to suppress his laughter.

"Mr. Sherwood, your skills are still amazing!" Smith praised sincerely, patting him on the shoulder. "We're all human. Who hasn't made mistakes? As long as you fix them, it's good."

Peter immediately leaned in, face full of excitement at the drama. "Kingsley, what mistake did you actually make? Tell me. I'll analyze it for you and see if there's any chance of winning Lucy back."

Smith looked on, his eyes also holding a hint of curious amusement.

Kingsley ignored him completely, raising his hand to swing again, his movements crisp and clean.

Peter, however, had no intention of giving up. He was full of doubt—he simply couldn't figure out what Kingsley could have done to make his ex-wife dislike him so much. He pressed on. "Come on, tell us. Mr. Smith and I can brainstorm for you. More people, more ideas."

Kingsley finally turned his head to look at him, his tone carrying a cold sarcasm. "Do you even believe the words coming out of your mouth?"
