When Kingsley arrived at the branch office, the General Manager was visibly flustered.
Why was Mr. Sherwood here himself? The notification was for the Vice President's visit, and he almost never came to the Swiss branch.
The manager's chest tightened. He suspected something major was about to happen.
As soon as Kingsley entered the office, the middle-aged manager hurried over to Shane, his tone laced with anxiety. "Shane, I thought the VP was coming? Why is Mr. Sherwood here personally? My heart is in my throat."
Shane glanced at him and spoke plainly. "This was a last-minute decision by Mr. Sherwood. Perhaps just a whim. It has nothing to do with you."
Hearing this, the manager's anxiety vanished instantly. He let out a long breath. "Good, good. That puts me at ease."
Shane smirked. In truth, even he didn't know why Kingsley had suddenly come to Switzerland.
Lucy's image flashed through his mind, and he privately speculated: "Is this for Miss Lynwood? Is he here to win her back personally?"
Just as his thoughts wandered, his phone rang.
He answered, and Kingsley's concise, undeniable voice came through the receiver: "Come in."
The call ended immediately.
Shane pushed open the office door and walked in.
Kingsley looked up at him and said faltly, "Contact Mr. Holt. Invite him to dinner tonight."
Shane paused, stunned. Before he could react, Kingsley frowned, his voice dropping a few degrees. "Did you not understand?"
"Understood! I'll arrange it immediately!"
"It is The Holt Group's honor to be favored by Mr. Sherwood!" Jules smiled and raised his wine glass. "Mr. Sherwood, I propose a toast to you. Thank you for your appreciation of The Holt Group and the work of our designers."
Kingsley raised his glass and clinked it gently against Jules's, his tone certain. "The Holt Group is more than capable."
Shane, watching from the side, mused silently: "Mr. Sherwood praising The Holt Group's design... isn't that just a roundabout way of praising Miss Lynwood? After all, the Lunar Tide design was her work."
The two talked for a long time.
Jules was naturally charismatic and socially adept. Since he was planning to expand back into the domestic market, he needed to build a reputation there.
Naturally, he had no reason to refuse the opportunity Kingsley was handing him.
After the dinner concluded, Kingsley sat in his car. He loosened his tie, unlocked his phone, and opened the 'Lunar Tide' project group chat.
