The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 209

Logan let out a laugh. “Ella’s just jealous of Maureen. She’s trying to mess up our dinner.”

Ruby rolled her eyes. “Can you believe that country girl? She actually called Doctor E a fraud. Is she serious?”

Maureen squeezed Doctor E’s hand and gave him an apologetic smile. “Doctor E, please don’t mind her. She’s just jealous. She can’t think straight when she’s like this.”

Doctor E glanced in the direction Ella had gone, finally relaxing a little. He wasn’t sure what Ella really knew, but she definitely made him uneasy. Luckily, the Irvine family had kicked her off. He looked at them now, feeling confident, almost smug. They were completely in his pocket.

He gave a warm smile. “It’s alright. I’m not upset at all.”

Grandma Jill grinned. “Let’s not have Ella spoil the mood. Come on, let’s eat.”

Maureen perked up. “Grandma, I have something to announce. I just joined Doctor E’s medical team and now I own shares in the company.”

Grandma Jill and the rest stared at her in surprise. “Maureen, you own shares in Doctor E’s team?”

Doctor E nodded. “That’s right. Maureen invested a billion.”

“A billion?” Jessa’s eyes went wide. “Maureen, where did you get that kind of money?”

Logan and Ruby looked proud. “We put the company up as collateral.”

They had risked everything for Doctor E.

Doctor E flashed a confident smile. “With me here, there’s no risk. I promise that billion will double or triple by the end of the year. Maureen’s net worth is about to go through the roof.”

Everyone knew Doctor E’s reputation. Nobody doubted him for a second. Jessa, Peter, and Rachel started shifting in their seats, eager for a chance to join in.

Jessa spoke up first. “Doctor E, we want to invest a billion too.”

Peter and Rachel nodded. “We can mortgage our company as well.”

“Who says I don’t? I can mortgage this house. This estate is worth a fortune. Doctor E, I want a share too.”

Doctor E thought for a moment, then agreed. “Of course. We’ll all make money together. After all, Maureen and I are getting married soon. We’re already family.” He leaned over and kissed Maureen’s hand.

Maureen’s cheeks flushed with happiness.

Now everyone was in high spirits. They had all put everything on the line, already dreaming about getting rich overnight.

Grandma Jill raised her glass. “Now that Ella’s bad luck is gone, our family’s luck has finally changed. Let’s toast to our future riches.”

Jessa, Peter, and Rachel lifted their glasses. “Cheers.”

Maureen joined Logan and Ruby, raising her glass. “Cheers.”
