The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 289

Lilly stood up, her eyes flashing with confidence. “Jessa, let’s get something straight. This is the Lynch family’s house, not the Harmon’s. Now, get them out of here.”

“Yes, Miss Lilly.”

Before Jessa and Sarah could even react, they were dragged out the door. The next thing they knew, they hit the ground outside, landing in a heap, faces practically buried in the grass.

Ava burst out laughing, no sympathy at all.

Lilly grinned, a little mischievous. She’d promised she’d give these two a proper welcome, and she was a girl of her word.

Who did they think they were, going after her best friend Ella? Did they really think Ella was all alone?

Lilly had been waiting for this moment ever since Ella got sick because of them. Finally, she’d gotten payback, and it felt amazing.

Jessa and Sarah picked themselves up outside the gate, totally embarrassed and covered in dirt. Getting kicked out of the Lynch house like that? They never saw it coming.

Lilly was seriously the worst.

Anyone who hung out with Ella was just as bad.

“Jessa, Allie’s obviously on Ella’s side. What are we supposed to do now?”

Jessa’s face darkened. She wasn’t about to let this go.

“Let’s just get out of here for now.”

They started to walk away, but the universe really had it in for them. Raindrops began to fall, fast and cold.

Jessa groaned, feeling even more miserable as her clothes got soaked.

Just then, a sleek black car pulled up next to them. The window slid down, and the driver looked at Sarah. “Sarah? Mr. Matthis would like you to get in.”

Mr. Matthis? Who on earth…?

Just then, Lucas’s phone rang. He answered, and Lilly’s cheerful voice came through loud and clear. “Lucas, don’t forget our movie date tonight at seven.”

Lucas pressed his lips together. “Okay,” he replied, voice flat, and ended the call.

Jessa caught every detail, her mind racing with possibilities.

Soon, the car pulled up at Central College. Jessa and Sarah got out. “Thanks for the ride, Lucas,” Sarah said.

“Anytime,” Lucas replied with a friendly smile.

The car pulled away.

Jessa tugged Sarah aside. “Did you see that? Lucas is totally into you.”

Sarah hesitated. “But he’s Lilly’s fiancé.”

“So what? Lilly looks down on you anyway. If you take her fiancé, wouldn’t that be the perfect revenge?”
