The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 326

Something flickered in David’s chest. He opened his mouth to say something, but just then, his palm felt empty. Ella had already slipped her hand away.

People started to gather around Ella, mostly young, successful types. One of them, Luke, was a Harvard grad too and already making waves in tech as the CEO of a buzzing new company.

Luke studied Ella’s beautiful face and grinned. “So, Ella, can I ask, are you seeing anyone?”

David watched her closely. Ella just raised her perfectly shaped brows and replied, “Single, and available.”

Single, and available.

Those words made Luke’s eyes light up. He pulled out his phone. “Hey, since we’re both Harvard folks, let’s swap numbers.”

Ella nodded. “Sure, Luke.”

They exchanged contacts, just like that.

David stood there, remembering when Ella had turned down his friend request. She hadn’t wanted to add him. But with Luke, it was no problem at all.

A hollow ache settled in David’s chest, like something important had just slipped through his fingers.

“Ella!”

Right then, Grandma Jill showed up with Jessa, Maureen, and Rachel in tow. But they couldn’t get close. Ella was in the VIP section, and they didn’t have access.

A staff member blocked their way. “Sorry, ladies, you can’t go any further.”

Grandma Jill craned her neck, her voice trembling with emotion. “I’m here for Ella. I’m her grandmother.”

Ruby tried to smooth things over. “Ella, grandma was just upset before. In the end, we’re family.”

Ella stood tall, graceful as ever. She blinked slowly, then looked back at Grandma Jill. “So, now you want to be family again?”

“Ella, we’ve always been family…” Grandma Jill rushed to say.

But Ella cut her off. “Not this time. I don’t want to be family with you anymore.”

Grandma Jill just stood there, stunned.

Ella’s gaze swept over them all. They had hurt her so deeply, and now, after all the pain, there was only this clear, cold strength in her eyes. “You abandoned me when I was a kid. Everyone else had a grandmother, a mom, a family. I always felt like an orphan. Like you said before, we’re not family anymore. This time, I’m done with you.”

She turned to the staff beside her. “I don’t know these people. Please show them out.”
