The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 335

Ella’s hand froze, chopsticks hovering in midair. Then, she answered honestly, “I got married.”

The whole table fell silent for a second, then everyone started murmuring in shock.

Luke stared at her, eyes wide. “Ella, you’re married?”

Ella could feel David watching her, his gaze heavy and impossible to ignore. She tried to pretend she didn’t notice, forcing a small smile. “Yeah. That’s what I’ve been doing these past few years… just taking care of my husband, being a housewife.”

She wasn’t lying. She’d really stepped away from everything for more than three years, her whole world orbiting around David.

The girls around her looked stunned. “Ella, you gave up your best years to be a housewife?”

Ella shrugged lightly. “We actually got divorced not too long ago.”

This time, everyone’s shock was even more obvious.

“For Ella to settle down as a housewife, that guy must’ve been incredible.”

“Ella, who was your husband… I mean, your ex-husband?”

Everyone’s curiosity was suddenly through the roof. They all wanted to know what kind of man had been able to win Ella’s heart.

Ella glanced across the table.

David was sitting quietly, barely touching his food. She remembered he never liked spicy dishes, always going for something lighter. Now, those dark eyes of his were fixed on her, waiting.

It felt like everyone was waiting for her answer.

How could she even explain? Her ex-husband really was extraordinary, and he was sitting right here. Everyone at the table knew him.

David kept his gaze on her. She’d taken off her white puffer jacket, and her long hair was tied up carelessly, a few strands curling around her neck. She looked so effortless and beautiful, it almost hurt to look at her.

Her clear eyes finally met his. “No need to trouble Mr. Harmon…”

David’s lips curled into a faint smile. Suddenly, he spoke up. “Why do you always call me Mr. Harmon? You never once call me my name.”

Ella’s eyelashes fluttered, caught off guard.

One of the others laughed. “Yeah, Ella, why’s that? You call all of us by name, but for him, it’s always so formal.”

“Ella, you’re in Rockford Bay now. You should stick close to David. Come on, just call him David once.”

Everyone was all too happy to tease her, egging Ella on to say David’s name.
