Jessa stopped in her tracks. “What are you talking about?”
Ella smirked. “You can’t satisfy Mr. Harmon. He’s been so keyed up lately. Just a little touch from me and he’s all over it.”
Wait, what?
Jessa sucked in a sharp breath.
Ella turned away, unlocked her door, and slipped inside her apartment. The door snapped shut, leaving Jessa staring at the wood.
Jessa turned to David. “David, what’s going on with you and Ella?”
David clearly didn’t want to get into it. He just opened his apartment door and said, “Come in.”
Jessa followed him inside. It was her first time in David’s place at the Stellaris Apartments, and the luxury of it all made her do a double take.
Then, David’s voice came from behind her, cool and steady. “Jessa, you wanted to come here, so I brought you here. Can I see the pendant now?”
He was clearly focused on one thing.
Jessa had come ready. She flashed him a flirty smile. “Don’t get so impatient, David. I’m going to take a hot shower first. Once I’m done, I’ll let you see the pendant.”
With that, she disappeared into the bedroom.
David lingered in the living room, barely holding onto his patience. He wasn’t about to give anything away. He needed to see exactly what Jessa was up to.
Suddenly, a cry came from the bedroom.
David strode over and grabbed the doorknob, pushing the door open. “Jessa, what happened?”
Nothing happened. She had just finished showering and was now wearing one of his crisp white shirts.
Jessa had been dancing since she was a kid, so her curves were impossible to miss. The shirt on her—loose in all the right places—made her look even more tempting.
