The Heiress Nobody Saw Coming (Natalie and Marcus) novel Chapter 760

Lincoln spoke earnestly. "Sky, I think seeing a therapist would be good for you. I'll accompany you. No one needs to know—neither Father nor Mother, Marcus or Nat. I'll make sure it stays between us."

Sky's eyes reddened, and after a long pause, he finally agreed. "Okay. Thank you, Lincoln."

Lincoln smiled. "Sky, we're family. I'm your brother. It's enough that you don't blame us for not helping you before. I'm sorry we couldn't do more back then."

Sky exhaled deeply. "I know, and I don't blame any of you. When I was in prison, I had a lot to think about. I don't have the right to blame anyone. If I should blame someone, it's myself.

"Lincoln, please go ahead and arrange the session. Once you have everything set, let me know the time. I'll see the therapist."

Lincoln nodded. "Alright. I'll make the arrangements soon."

He glanced at his watch. "Sky, take it easy tonight. I'll set it up tomorrow."

Sky nodded. "Okay, thank you."

Lincoln added, "Sky, don't mention it. This is what I should do as your brother. When we were kids, you took care of me so well. When I started my business, you helped me out a lot. My respect and gratitude for you have always been there."

Sky nodded once more. "Lincoln, thank you."

Lincoln smiled. "Sky, there's no need for that, really. Let's get some rest."

The two returned to the house, said goodnight to each other, and went to their separate rooms.

Lincoln sent a message to Naomi, made a quick phone call, then went to take a shower before bed.

Meanwhile, Sky sat on the balcony after finishing his evening routine. Since his return, he hadn't been able to sleep well. Some nights, he would finally manage to fall asleep, only to be tormented by nightmares.

In his dreams, Emma was covered in blood, crying out to him, "Sky, don't you want me anymore? Don't you want me? Sky, please save me. I love you…."

Each repeated "Sky" was like an incantation, haunting him, and every time he woke up, his body was drenched in sweat.

Sky sat on the balcony, intermittently checking his phone. It was a new phone, and everything inside was empty.

His old accounts had photos and videos, but he didn't want to restore them.

To him, Emma felt like a fleeting mist that disappeared as soon as it was swept away.

However, the emotions and effort he had invested in her were so heavy that it felt like an unbearable burden.

He had watched her grow from a tiny baby in his arms to the adult woman she had become. He had taught her to speak, helped her take her first steps, and had been involved in every stage of her life.

Sky didn't know if it was right or wrong to give up on her in the end. All he knew was that after meeting him, she had taken her own life.

Though Sky appeared calm on the outside, he couldn't find peace inside.

Still, he hid it well. His parents hadn't noticed, nor had Gorge. Only Lincoln, who was always busy and seldom home, had noticed his inner vulnerability and the troubles he kept hidden.

Sky couldn't refuse Lincoln's kindness.

He sat on the balcony for a long time, lost in thought, until a message from Lincoln brought him back to the moment.

Lincoln had sent just one sentence. "Rest early, and don't overthink it."

Sky replied, "I understand. Thank you, Lincoln."

Lincoln texted, "Goodnight!"

"Goodnight," came Sky's reply.

The next morning, Lincoln knocked on Sky's door early. When Sky opened it, Lincoln greeted him with a smile. "Sky, come with me! Everything has been arranged."
