The Invisible Wife Turned Savage novel Chapter 235

**TITLE: Arrived 235**
**Chapter 235: Storm at the Door**

Jonathan felt his patience fraying as the raucous laughter and chatter from Selene and Harry echoed through the walls. It was relentless, a cacophony that gnawed at his concentration. Finally, he decided enough was enough. He grabbed his laptop and made his way next door to Estella’s apartment, seeking solace in the quiet.

Meanwhile, Lana found herself alone in the living room, a curious thought bubbling up in her mind. What if, in their obliviousness, Harry and Selene were inadvertently nudging Estella and Jonathan closer together? The idea was both amusing and unsettling.

In Estella’s cozy living room, she sat curled up on the sofa, her fingers scrolling through a flurry of messages from her family. The soft glow of her phone illuminated her face, casting gentle shadows. Jonathan settled himself at her desk, his demeanor as quiet as ever, his gaze glued to the screen as he tried to immerse himself in his work.

As the clock ticked closer to eleven, Jonathan finally removed his glasses, rubbing the bridge of his nose in a futile attempt to ease the tension building there. A quick glance over to the sofa revealed that Estella had succumbed to sleep, her head tilted to one side, a peaceful expression gracing her features.

He approached her softly, careful not to disturb her slumber. With a gentle touch, he slipped her phone from her grasp and draped a soft blanket over her. For a fleeting moment, he contemplated picking her up and carrying her to the bedroom, but he quickly dismissed the thought, feeling it was too intimate. Instead, he turned to grab his computer, preparing to leave, only to discover that the front door was securely locked. He had forgotten his keys.

Just as he was about to knock, his phone buzzed insistently. A new message from Harry flashed on the screen:

“Stay at Estella’s tonight. Selene and I need some… deep conversation.”

Jonathan raised his eyebrows in surprise. Were they really moving that quickly?

The notion of a fast-paced romance baffled him. In his mind, genuine intimacy blossomed only when two hearts were in perfect sync. Yet, he reminded himself, the choices of others were not his to judge. Still, he found himself stranded outside his own home, with no option but to sigh and retreat back into Estella’s apartment. He figured he might as well make the most of the night and continue working.

Estella stirred awake, her gaze landing on him with a hint of confusion. “Forgot something?” she asked, her voice still thick with sleep.

It was unusual for Jonathan to linger so late, and she had always trusted his sense of boundaries. There was never a worry about him coming or going at odd hours.

Clearing his throat, he felt a blush creep up his cheeks. “My door’s locked. Harry and Selene… seem to have called it a night.”

Understanding flickered in Estella’s eyes, and a small smile tugged at her lips. She couldn’t help but find amusement in the swiftness of Selene’s actions. It had barely been a week, and already she was defining things?

“You can take the sofa, right?” she suggested gently, her tone warm and inviting.

Jonathan nodded without a moment’s hesitation. “Anything’s fine,” he replied, grateful for her hospitality.

Estella quickly retrieved a pillow and blanket, laying them out with care. Just as she finished, a sudden, sharp knock rattled the door, causing her to frown in confusion.

“Maybe Selene came back. I’ll check,” she said, moving toward the door.

When she opened it, she was met with a furious Isabelle, her disheveled appearance a stark contrast to the usually composed woman.
