The IVF Secret That Shook a Dynasty novel Chapter 63

Fletcher was still trying to figure out the identity of the man. Hearing Vivica, he snapped back to the present and handed her three copies of the divorce agreement.

Vivica didn't even spare him a glance. She took the papers, handed one copy to Joseph, and began reading her own.

Seeing her give a copy to the man beside her, Riley’s curiosity about their relationship grew. She crossed her arms, settling in to watch the drama unfold.

“Vivica, I really underestimated you. A cast-off wife, not even divorced yet, and you’re already flaunting your new lover in public?”

Joseph, who had been looking down at the agreement, lifted his gaze. His eyes, deep as ancient wells, shot a cold glare in Riley's direction.

“I am Ms. Lynn’s legal counsel. I suggest you watch your words, or you may find yourself in trouble,” Joseph warned coolly before his gaze returned to the papers.

Riley was so rattled by his sharp glance that she could feel a tremor run through her. But she wasn't one to back down. She forced a smirk and tried to sound composed. “Oh, a lawyer. I was wondering who it was. If this is an amicable divorce, why bring a lawyer?”

She directed the question at Vivica, but Joseph answered without even looking up. “Miss, mistresses should learn some discretion. You have no place to speak here.”

Riley was left speechless, her face flushing with a mixture of anger and humiliation. She shot a resentful look at Fletcher, but he ignored her, his eyes fixed on Joseph in deep thought.

After a moment, he asked hesitantly, “Are you… Mr. Baird?”

Joseph raised an eyebrow. “You know me?”

Fletcher was stunned. “You really are Mr. Baird?”

Vivica was also a little surprised. She hadn't expected Fletcher to know Joseph. But from his tone and reaction, it seemed he had only heard of him, not known him personally.

Joseph didn’t deny it, which was as good as a confirmation.

Fletcher turned to Vivica, his voice laced with a new meaning. “You’re more capable than I gave you credit for.”

The implication was clear: he couldn't believe she had managed to hire someone like Joseph Baird. At the same time, a wave of relief washed over him that they had settled on an agreement. If this had gone to court, he would have been in deep trouble. No one ever won against Joseph in a courtroom.

Vivica smirked. “You flatter me.”

She lowered her eyes back to the agreement. It didn't really matter what it said; she had no intention of letting this divorce go through amicably. This was all just an act to fool them.

The terms were outrageous. Aside from her personal belongings in the house, everything else would go to Fletcher. In other words, she would leave with nothing.

Vivica scoffed as she read. “Fletcher, you really have no shame.”
