“What’s the problem?” I ask Quirin, as alert as Henry.

Quirin looks pained. “Your Beta is Nicolette’s second chance mate.”

I look at Henry. There’s no way Nicolette will accept him, not right now anyway.

I’m surprised that Henry doesn’t seem.concerned. Even through our bond that he’s left wide open so I have full access to his thoughts and feelings, he isn’t concerned at all.

He brushes his mind against mine as he talks to Quirin.

“Where’s Philip?”

Quirin smiles. “With your Beta, who has already claimed the pup as his.”

Henry smiles. “He wouldn’t be my Beta is he wasn’t that kind of man. I’m sure they have a tough road ahead of them, but Dallas will persevere. I have faith in him.

Besides, with Farrah here now, she can talk to Nicolette.

Did he call his mother?”

“Not that I’m aware of. Kennedy said she’s with her new grandbaby.”

“I’ll call her. It will help him to know that his mate is beingcared for by his mother.”

“Kennedy called Yara. She’s planning to come too, but I forgot that she and Warren have their meeting with the Council this week,” Quirin says.

“That’s right. I forgot about that too. Even more reason for me to contact Savannah. I’ll do that in the morning. Where is Dallas now?” Henry asks.

“Kennedy set him and Philip up in the room with Nicolette. He wanted to be there and Kennedy said it will help Nicolette and her wolf to heal if he’s near her. Her wolf is silent. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. She seems smart enough to realize that any man who is caring for her son as quickly and easily as Dallas is, is feeling the effects of the mate bond.”

“One day at a time,” Henry says. “Any issues after we left Patrick’s pack?”

“Besides the Gamma having already being arrested and ruining my fun? No.”

I smile. I swear Alpha Quirin enjoys proving to others how scary he is. I have to admit, after my show of force earlier, I understand it better. It felt good to bring down that asshole Patrick.

Henry turns to me. “Why don’t you go to bed. I’m going to check on Dallas and then I’ll join you.”

He pulls me to him, kissing me with the love and passionthat I’ve come to crave from my mate. When he releases me, he growls. When I realize that Alpha Quirin is grinning at us, I blush.

“I’m glad I rubbed off on you,” he says to Henry.

“Fuck off. I’ve always been passionate. I just needed my mate to bring it out of me.”

“Glad I could help,” I purr, sliding my hand over his chest.

Be naked in our bed when I get back and I’ll show you just how much passion you bring out of me.’

“I don’t want to know what you just said, but can guess given the heightened scent of Piper’s arousal. Go be a newly mated couple. I’ll see you in the morning,” Quirin says.

“As if you don’t have Kennedy’s scent all over you. What’s your excuse? You can’t say you’re newly mated anymore.”

“I don’t have an excuse. It’s not my fault I can never get enough of my mate,” he says, grinning at us as he begins to jog inside to get back to his mate.

“It still creeps me out that he smiles so much. The vicious smile, I get. But that one, that happy smile… it’s super creepy.”

I laugh and kiss him quickly. “Hurry back to me.”

When I get upstairs, I shower quickly, then pull the bed sheets back before laying in the center of the bed, withmy arms over my head and my legs open and inviting, knowing what’s to come.

When my mate returns, he doesn’t disappoint me, tying my wrists to the headboard then sending my body into the place of extraordinary bliss that only he can take me.

Afterward; we curl up together, our minds and bodies one, as we fell asleep.

In the morning, I wake energized, once again ready to take on the world. Today, however, I also have Henry in my mind, body, and soul so much more than I did before.

“My mate always has so much energy in the morning,” he growls as we make our way downstairs.

“My mate energizes me before we go to bed and I wake up feeling fantastic. And I didn’t hear you complaining when I was riding you with all that energy a few minutes ago,” I say, grinning.

“You will NEVER hear me complain about that.”

When we walk into warrior training, hand-in-hand, the entire pack begins cheering. Everyone comes over to congratulate us on completing our bond, telling me how happy they are that I’m their Luna, and that they can’t wait for my Luna ceremony.

“We haven’t had a chance to talk about it and remember that your Luna is still a cadet at the Warrior Academy,” Henry says.”As if we could forget. We’re all looking forward to her kicking our asses today,” Knox says.

“I will gladly oblige you, Gamma,” I say.

I spend the next couple of hours battling with our pack’s warriors, taking them down, and showing them ways to improve their fighting skills.

When we head inside for breakfast, I pick up the pouting Kendra and Kaylee and promise that I’ll spar with them before | leave today, making them both smile again.

“Luna, have you seen Beta Dallas. It’s not like him to miss warrior training,” one of our pack members asks me.

“Henry, did you want to make an announcement about yesterday?” I ask him.

He pulls me into a hug, then looks at the pack members. ” Yeah, why don’t we do that. Some things happened yesterday and it would be good for the pack to know what those things are.”

He takes my hand and leads me to the front of the dining room. Everyone gets quiet as Henry tells them about our confrontation with Alpha Patrick yesterday. Then he makes me blush by giving a detailed description of me holding Alpha Patrick off the ground and forcing him to accept his mate’s rejection.

The pack howls their pride and happiness as Henry pulls me into a possessive kiss, pouring his love and pride intome as I cling to him.

When he pulls away, he growls low making my body hum with need, before turning back to the pack. “Alpha Patrick’s mate is here. She is in our pack hospital recovering from Alpha Patrick’s indiscretions and the rejection. She has a six-year-old son who is also here.

When they are stronger, we will see if they want to join our pack. For now, Beta Dallas is with Nicolette, helping her recover and keeping her son calm after everything that has happened.”

The rest of the day goes by much too quickly. After spending time with pack members, and sparring with Kendra and Kaylee, Henry and I go check on Nicolette and Philip.

I was surprised when we walked into the hospital to find Quinlee and Quilla with Philip.

“It’s okay that your mommy’s wolf is quiet. It’s a lot for our wolves when they lose their mate bond,” Quinlee says.

“Yeah, it’s like they need rest. Our mommy will help your mommy get stronger and then her wolf will come back and make her better. You’ll see,” Quilla says.

“Is your mom a doctor?” Philip asks.
