The Pack's Luna: The Pack Series Book 4 novel Chapter 361

Henry

“Who at the Academy would you trust with your brother’s life?” I ask her. If it were me, I’d have called Yorick already, but this is Piper’s brother. She needs to trust the person – implicitly.

“Any of them,” she says. “But definitely my group of friends, Yorick, Cyra, Zach, Landon, and Chase. Why?”

“Based on the GPS, the Academy looks like it’s only thirty minutes from the town your brother is in. We could send a couple of your friends to get him.”

“Yorick and Landon both have new pups. I could call Zach.

He and Chase could go.”

I push back the jealousy that wants to push forward. I know Piper is close to Zach. I also know that he’s done nothing to make me feel like he was fighting me for my mate since we identified each other as mates.

“He’s just a friend, Henry. A really, really good friend,” she says.

“I know. But I know that he’s been with you, Piper. It’s a natural response. Anyway, call him. See if he and Chase can go pick up your brother. That way you don’t have to worry about Gage finding him first.”

She sends a wave of love through the bond and an image of her naked, walking toward me with eyes full of desire.

“Piper..” I growl.

“That’s all for you, Henry. It always has been,” she says, picking up her phone and dialing Zach.

“Hellfire, what’s this I hear about you taking down Alphas?” Zach says when he answers.

“You heard about that?” she asks.

“Oh yeah. Yorick heard about it first and told the rest of us. I knew i named you properly,” he says, making me laugh.

“Well, I’ll tell you all about it later, but I have a favor to ask.”

“What do you need?”

“I need you and Chase to go pick up my brother, Gavin. He ran from my family’s pack and he’s alone. We’re still two hours away from him, but the Academy is only about thirty minutes. I’m worried Gage will be looking for him.”

“What’s the address?” Zach asks, instantly becoming serious.

Piper gives it to him.

“Do you think two of us will be enough?” he says. I hear him walking, then hear him knock on a door.

“Hey, what’s up?” I hear Chase ask.

“Hellfire needs us. Come on,” Zach says.

“Is she okay?” Thear a woman ask.

“Do you care if Megan comes too?” Zach asks.

“If she’s willing, I’m fine with it,” she says.

“Do I get to kick an Alpha asshole’s ass?” she asks.

“Possibly,” Zach tells her. “I’ll call you when we have him in our custody, Hellfire.”

“Thanks, Zach. Thanks everyone!” she says more loudly.

“That’s what friends are for, Hellfire,” Zach says before they hang up.

Piper calls Gavin.

“Piper, you’re still coming, right?”

“Yes and no. I’m too far away and I didn’t want you out there alone knowing that Gage is probably looking for you. I have three friends coming to get you. They’ll be there in about thirty minutes. Zach, Chase, and Megan.

You can trust them and they’ll protect you until Henry and I can get to you.”

What if Gage brings warriors with him, Piper?”

“My friends are all like me, Gavin. They’re all training to be elite warriors. Believe me, Gage and the pack’s warriorswon’t stand a chance against them if they do get there.

Trust me, Gavin. They’ll keep you safe. I wouldn’t have sent them if they couldn’t.”

“Thanks, Pipes.’

When she hangs up, I take her hand. “Do you want me to-get a hotel for the three of us, or do you want him to stay? at the Academy with you?” L ask her. As much as I was wanting to spend another night with my mate, this is more important. If I have to drive home tonight, or get a hotel room for myself, I will.

“Let’s get a hotel for the three of us. I need to contact Alpha Naveah and let her know I may not be in class tomorrow morning,” she says.

“Yes, you will. I will stay with your brother if he’s not willing to return to our pack. I’m sure he’s nervous about being alone, but if he’s willing to accept you and l as his Alpha and Luna, I can take him back to our pack and get him settled. He’ll be safer there than in a hotel room near the Academy. I would guess that your brother will come looking for him there,” I tell her.

“Gage is probably foolish enough to do that. Hell, Dad and Grady were, so why wouldn’t Gage,” she says, pulling up the information on hotels. I pull my wallet out and hand it to her.

“Get a two bedroom suite somewhere so we can keep him safe and the two of you can talk. I’d really like for him to accept us so I can get him away from here and know he’ssafe,” I say.

“Have I told you today that I love you,” she says, stopping to look at me.

“Yeah, but it will never be enough.”

“love you, I love you, I love you. And very soon, I’m going, to make sure I show you just how much i love you.”

“You’re not exactly quiet, Piper. Maybe tonight isn’t the best time to show me, I growl.

“Is that a challenge, Alpha?” she purrs, as she begins scrolling through the list of hotels near the Academy.

“Hmmm, I guess I could put you on your hands and knees so you could scream into the bed,” I growl.

“I love a man who comes up with a solution to a problem,” she purrs. “Henry, these rooms are expensive.”

“We’re protecting your brother, Piper and we have money.

We won’t spend outrageously all the time, but this is important.”

“Thanks, Henry,” she says, reserving the room online.

She’s just finished when her phone rings.

“We have secured the package, Red Leader,” I hear Zach say. I shake my head. The man is so rarely serious. It’s probably a good trait for someone who wants to be on an elite fighting squad. His team will appreciate the levityafter a long, hard day.

“Yeah, and I didn’t get to kick any Alpha asshole ass, Piper.
