The Pack's Luna: The Pack Series Book 4 novel Chapter 357

Piper

“So, what’s the plan?” Quirin asks as we head to Justine’s pack.

“The plan is, I let Alpha Patrick know we’re here to get Justine’s blood for the paternity test, she lets Kennedy draw her blood, and we go home.”

I look at Henry frowning. Quirin just snorts. “If you thought it would be that easy, I wouldn’t be here. So, is Alpha Patrick going to be a problem?” Quirin asks.

“I honestly don’t know,” he says, but | turn in my seat and

Look at Quirin.

“Yes, he is. Whatever relationship he has with Justine, he’s going to take her side in this. She doesn’t want this paternity test. She wants Henry to ‘trust’ her,” I say sarcastically. “So he’ll take her side on that.”

“Right, so are we challenging him or what?” Quirin asks.

“I’ll threaten him with the Council if he interferes,” Henry says.

“‘m a better threat,” Quirin says with that menacing smile of his.

“You are, but I think your threat is better at containing the rest of the pack,” I say. “Let Henry and I deal with Alpha Patrick and Bitchtine.”Quirin runs his nose through Kennedy’s hair. “You know if anyone touches you they’re dead, right?” he says softly.

She sighs. “I know. Hopefully the threat of my incredibly vicious mate will keep them far away,” she says, grinning at her mate, completely unafraid of his viciousness. He growls, and kisses her.

When we arrive, the gate guard stops us. “Alpha Patrick was only expecting you and Luna Kennedy, Alpha Henry.”

“I never said it would only be the two of us. Alpha Patrick should have known that Alpha Quirin would never allow his mate into a pack of unknown wolves.”

His eyes go unfocused and stay that way for a long time before he finally agrees to let us through.

“I’m not sure if that was good or bad. Kennedy, you don’t leave my side,” Quirin says, obviously going into fight mode.

“Where else would I be, Quirin,” Kennedy says sweetly.

“Be ready for anything,” Henry says to me.

“What kind of an elite fighter-in-training would I be if I wasn’t?” I growl. Yeah, I’m ready for a fight too.

When we get out of the van, Alpha Patrick is standing on the steps of his packhouse with Justine standing beside him, much too close beside him if you ask me. I look around, seeing that in the time it took for Alpha Patrick to agree to let us on his pack lands, he’s assembled a largegroup of warriors.

They look at Henry, glance past me, then lock eyes on Quirin as he steps out of the van ahead of Kennedy. He stops, looking around. Whatever look he’s giving the warriors has them all shuffling uncomfortably.

“Alpha Henry, I thought this was going to be a civil visit,”

Alpha Patrick says.

“So, did I,” Henry counters. “And yet, you have your warriors ready for battle.”

“Justine is unwilling to give her blood. You are the only man she’s been with; you should accept your responsibility as this child’s father.”

“I will be happy to accept my responsibility just as soon as I know that the child is mine. I’m not asking a lot. It’s a simple blood draw from a well-known and admired medical professional. Five minutes and we’ll be on our way.”

“And yet, you brought your … mate, and Alpha Quirin with you.” Hè says mate as if the thought of me being Henry’s mate disgusts him.

“She’s not his mate! I am!” Justine says, stepping forward.

“You promised me, Henry.”

“I promised you nothing, Justine. Piper is my fated me. Be done with this. If the child is mine, I will take responsibility for him or her.” “If it’s a boy, he’s your heir,” she growls.

“The only son of mine that will become heir of my pack is my son with Piper. Enough of this, Justine. Let Kennedy draw your blood and we’ll have our answer in a couple of days,” he says.

“I don’t trust her,” she snarls, glaring at Kennedy.

Wrong move, bitch.

Quirin’s deafening snarl overpowers hers in an instant.

“I was under the impression that everyone here knew who I was,” he growls. “If you do, then you know that this woman is my mate. That means you know that if you say, look at, or even breathe on her wrong, you will regret it. If you lay a finger on her, I will kill you, and if you dare to come at her in any kind of threatening way, what I did to Alpha Christer will look like child’s play,” he growls, looking around at the warriors, before turning his gaze to Justine again, “Don’t think your Alpha could save you from my wrath.”

Justine whimpers and tucks herself even closer to Alpha Patrick. He’s furious and he opens his mouth to say something when a woman who looks about one step away from collapsing, comes around the corner of the packhouse clutching a young boy against her body.

“It’s Patrick’s child! That’s why she won’t do the paternity test,” the woman says.”NICOLETTE!” Alpha Patrick roars. “I told you to stay inside!”

“Please, ‘m begging for asylum for me and my son,” she says, looking at Alpha Quirin and Henry. “I’m Alpha Patrick’s mate, but ever since I gave him an heir, he’s been awful to me. I can’t take him constantly cheating on our mate bond with her,” she says, pointing to Justine.

“That’s a lie!” Justine screams.

Alpha Patrick takes two steps toward Nicolette. The woman cowers as if ready to be hit. I see Quirin move, but I beat him to it.

My hand comes around Alpha Patrick’s throat, and I lift him off the ground. “Do you know how fucking tired l am of asshole Alphas who think they can do whatever they want and get away with it?” I snarl.

When he begins thrashing against my hold, Fallon extends her claws and I slide them into his throat. He instantly stills.

” have no problem ripping your throat out, Alpha,” I growl.

I’ve just turned to Nicolette when I hear Justine rushing me from my blind side. “Let him go!”

Quick as a snake I snap my free hand around her throat, holding her in place.

“Henry, come get her before | throw a pregnant bitch across the yard,” I snarl.”I have no problem throwing a pregnant bitch across the yard,” Quirin says. I can tell from his voice that he’s enjoying the show.
