Chapter 101
Mia stood beside her brother Ethan. She has so many things to say, so many things to scream at him but no idea how to
even start.
Was there any point though.
Ethan won’t listen, his whole life revolves around pushing and delivering drugs.
She glances at him again, his face etched with lines of experience and choices that had led them both to this moment.
“You know that sweet business of yours is either going to get you killed or us killed,” She finally let out.
Ethan chuckled dryly, a sound devoid of humor. “That is if Charles Blackwell doesn’t wipe us out first,” he replied, his gaze fixed on a distant point beyond the window.
Mia’s heart skipped a beat.
The name ‘Charles Blackwell’ carried weight, a legacy of destruction and intimidation in this town.
She turned to her brother, searching his face for answers. Was Charles still after him for what happened with his son Jullian?
“I don’t think he still cares about the fact that you fed his son drugs and turned him into an addict,” Mia said, her voice filled with accusation.
Jullian is someone she has come to care about even though she hasn’t met him, well he is important to Alex, so…
Ethan’s expression hardened. “Firstly, I didn’t turn Julian Blackwell into an addict. I just gave him what he wanted. It’s business. Not my fault he didn’t know when to stop. Besides, Charles Blackwell has another reason to wipe us off than what happened with his son years ago.”
Mia’s heart pounded in her chest. “What are you talking about?” she asked, fear creeping into her voice.
Her brother turned to her, his eyes filled with a mix of frustration and protectiveness. “I’m talking about you parading around town with Alex Blackwell. Jeez, Mia, are you insane?”
Her heart dropped as she stared at her brother. She opened her mouth, then closed it, words failing her.
She couldn’t ask how he knew. Then again, she and Alex had not been subtle while in public; they always got carried away with what they felt for each other.
“Alex is a dick, worse than his father,” Ethan said.
“You don’t know him,” Mia defended.
“And you do? You’ve known him for what? Weeks? Months? Mia, I know the streets and the underground of this town more than you do. Alex Blackwell is as horrible as his monster of a father, if not worse. Plus, he fucking has a girlfriend.”
“They broke up,” Mia said.
Ethan laughed, a bitter sound. “Alex and Zoe break up? Is that what he told you?”
“I saw it, okay? And please, stop with the lecture, Ethan,” Mia said, getting really defensive.
“Alex and Zoe break up all the time Mia, All the freaking time! Guess what? they always come back together, Always”

Chapter 101
“It’s different this time,” Mia says, although her brother’s words were beginning to get to her.
“Is that what he told you? Jesus Mia ”
“Drop it” Mia says
Ethan let out a long sigh.
It goes quiet for a few seconds.
“Just trying to look out for you, Mia. You are the only thing pure and honest bearing the Turner name. Getting involved with
a Blackwell, that won’t end well, baby sis. Does he even know you’re related to me?”
“He knows I’m a Turner,” Mia said. Ethan was shocked for a second. He shook his head.
“Get that admission and get the fuck out of this town, Mia,” Ethan said softly.
Mia glanced at him, her mind filled with different emotions.
“You don’t belong here Mia, you never did ” Ethan adds.
“Mia is dating someone?” Ann asked loudly from behind, pulling the attention of her sister Lily and their mother.
“What?” Lily asked, a smirk on her lips.
Mia rolls her eyes.
Here we go again.
“I don’t believe it” Lily says, ” who is the unlucky poor guy”
“I bet it’s some poor retarded dude, I mean Mia hates the rich men of Willowcrest” Ann says.
Lily and Ann were literally discussing about her, like she wasn’t standing in front of them
Ethan shakes his head, “You both know nothing, leave Mia alone.”
“How are we going to know if our dear sister keeps things away from us” Ann says
“Thought the men of Willowcrest weren’t good enough for you Mia.” Lily says
Mia rolls his eyes.
“Leave your sister alone “Their mom says, still busy arranging the room.
“What mom? Is it bad that we want to know about our baby sister? She knows everything about us but we know nothing about her” Lily says pouting, a tiny smirk playing on her lips too.
Mia shakes her head.
“Not my problem you both can’t stop yapping about the men you all throw yourselves at” Mia says
Of course the smile is completely wiped off their faces.
They always dish out what they can’t take, always ready to hurt her with words but can’t take half of what they dish out.
