The Heir And The Servent Started From A Bet novel Chapter 116

Chapter 116

The moment Mia stepped through the front door, it hit her-the noise.

She didn’t even get to close it all the way before both her sisters descended like hawks spotting prey.

“There she is,” Ann said sharply, standing in the hallway like she’d been waiting. Her arms were crossed, eyes blazing. “Mia freaking Turner.”

Mia blinked, still slightly disoriented from the emotional wind of last night.

The soft warmth of Alex’s sheets still clung to her skin, and the scent of him still lingered in her hair. Her mind was somewhere else entirely-until now.

She took a step forward.

Ann didn’t wait. “What the fuck, Mia? You’re dating Alex Blackwell and didn’t even think to tell us?”

Mia sighed, shutting the door quietly behind her.

Lily was seated on the armrest of the couch, smirking slightly, clearly enjoying the show.

Well at least she survived last night.

Ann threw her hands in the air. “Oh, so it’s true. Great. And you-you just what? Woke up one day and decided to date the enemy?”

“I didn’t decide anything,” Mia said, her voice calm, but her face already showing the cracks.

“Lily told us she saw you with him at the party last night,” Ann pressed.

Mia glanced at Lily, she smiled. Of Course she didn’t tell them everything.

Mia coughed into her hand to hide the laugh bubbling in her throat. Of course Lily hadn’t. How could she tell them that the only reason she entered the party was because of her.

“And you went to freaking unicorn party?”

“It was last minute decision ” Mia said, tired of the conversation already.

Ann stared at her like she was trying to read another language. “You’re dating Alex Blackwell, Mia.”

Mia looked between her sisters, then over to the couch-where their mother sat, silent and still, her arms folded across her chest, her face unreadable.

“Can’t believe you’re sleeping with the enemy,” Ann muttered, shaking her head. “Of all people.”

“Technically,” Lily piped up with a smirk, “Blackwell is the one sleeping with the enemy.”

Mia snorted. She hadn’t meant to, but it slipped out before she could help it.

“Lily,” their mother said suddenly, her voice low but firm. “That’s enough.”

The room fell into a short silence. The kind that stretched a little too long and made the air feel heavier.

Then their mother turned to Mia.

“Does he know you’re Ethan’s sister?”

Mia straightened.

“He knows I’m a Turner, Mom,” she said softly.

Her mother’s eyes narrowed just slightly. “And he’s still with you?”

Mia nodded..

“Something’s not adding up,” Ann said quickly, jumping back in. “There’s no way. The Blackwells hate our existence. They hate Ethan. That man was raised to spit at the ground we walk on.”

“You don’t think it’s strange?” Lily added, voice quieter now, but still sharp. “Maybe he’s using Mia. Maybe it’s all just a game to get under our skin.”

Mia rolled her eyes, stepping out of her shoes and finally walking into the living room like the accusation didn’t burn.

Not because she believed it-but because a small part of her still feared it.

She sighed and faced them fully.

“Alex Blackwell doesn’t need to use me to get to us,” she said, voice low and steady. “Are you kidding me? If he wanted to destroy us, he could wipe us out in seconds. With one call. And no one would question it.”

Ann frowned but didn’t speak.

Their mother’s fingers tapped once on the armrest. A quiet, thoughtful rhythm. Her face hadn’t changed.

“Now, if you all will excuse me,” Mia said, walking toward the hallway, “I need to sleep. I have work in a few hours.”

She stopped, then turned to Lily with a sugary smile.

“And Lily… Funny how you didn’t mention it’s because of Blackwell that you even entered the party last night” she added, tilting her head slightly, “…hope you exchanged numbers with at least three billionaires last night.”

Lily’s glare could have set fire to the curtains.

Mia grinned, satisfied, and turned away.

Behind her, Ann muttered something under her breath.

She just kept walking.

Mia collapsed into her bed like she’d been carrying the weight of a whole world on her back.

She didn’t even bother changing out of her clothes-she just sank into the mattress and curled her knees to her chest.

If she’d remembered to bring her work uniform to Alex’s place, she wouldn’t have come back here at all. She would’ve gone straight from his arms to work, no interruptions, no interrogations, no drama. Just warmth. Just peace.

But here she was.

Chapter 116

Back in this house where talks always came wrapped in fights.

She stared up at the ceiling, willing her mind to stop spinning, her eyes to shut, her thoughts to quiet.

She turned over, sighed into her pillow, tried counting backwards from one hundred.

Sleep didn’t come.

Then-knock knock.

A soft knock. Not urgent. Not loud. But enough to make her eyes blink open again.

She didn’t answer. Maybe if she stayed still, whoever it was would just walk away.

The door creaked open anyway.

Her mother stepped inside. Her expression was calm but firm, the kind that said this conversation wasn’t optional.

Mia groaned, flopping onto her back.

“Mom… no. Please. I’m so tired. Whatever this is about, can it wait?”

Her mom sat down gently at the edge of the bed. “It can’t.”

Of course it couldn’t.

Mia shut her eyes tightly, praying that if she didn’t move, didn’t breathe, maybe she’d disappear.

No such luck.

She exhaled loudly, giving in. “Fine. What is it this time?”
