Chapter 66
The moment their lips met, something ignited between them-something neither of them could stop.
Mia felt like she was burning from the inside out, her body melting into his, her fingers tangling in his hair as she pulled him closer. Alex kissed her with a hunger she had never felt before, like he had been holding back for far too long and now, now he just couldn’t anymore.
His hands slid down her waist, gripping her hips, pulling her against him like he needed her pressed against every inch of
him.
Mia gasped into his mouth, feeling lightheaded from how fast everything was happening, from how desperate this all felt. She didn’t even realize when Alex picked her up-one moment she was standing between his legs, the next she was lifted effortlessly, her legs wrapping around his waist on instinct.
Alex turned them both, placing her on the counter instead, his body slotting between her thighs.
He kissed her deeper, rougher, tilting her head back to get better access to her mouth.
Mia could barely think…her hands were all over him, nails raking down his bare chest, feeling the heat of his skin, the hard muscles flexing under her touch. He was still sweaty from the fight, the run, everything…his body was warm and alive under her fingertips.
Alex groaned against her lips, gripping her hips tighter, pressing her down onto the cool surface of the marble counter. The contrast between the cold stone and his burning touch sent a shiver down Mia’s spine.
“You drive me insane,” he murmured against her mouth, his voice rough, breathless.
Mia didn’t have time to respond before his lips were on her neck, pressing hot, open-mouthed kisses along her skin, making her body arch into him.
“Alex,” she gasped, her fingers tightening in his hair as his mouth traveled lower, down to her collarbone.
Alex didn’t stop.
He didn’t even think about stopping.
She had been haunting him for weeks. Every time he closed his eyes, he saw her. Every time he tried to forget her, she showed up and made it impossible. And now, now she was here, in his house, in his arms, clinging to him like she wanted this just as badly as he did.
And fuck, he wanted her.
More than he had ever wanted anything in his life.
His hands slid under her top, fingers tracing over her bare skin, feeling every dip and curve, memorizing every reaction she gave him.
Mia gasped when his hand cupped her breast, his thumb brushing over her hardened peak. Alex smirked against her skin at the sound she made, loving the way she trembled under his touch.
“Tell me you want this,” he murmured against her neck, his lips brushing over her pulse, his fingers teasing her in a way that made her feel like she was going to lose her mind.
Mia didn’t hesitate.
“Yes,” she whispered, her voice shaky but sure.

Chapter 66
That was all Alex needed.
In one swift motion, he pulled her shirt over her head, tossing it aside without a care, his eyes darkening at the sight of her.
“Fuck,” he muttered under his breath, his fingers tracing her bare skin, his hands firm and possessive as they roamed her body.
Mia shivered at the intensity in his gaze, at the way he was looking at her like she was the only thing in the world that mattered.
And then he was kissing her again.
Harder. Deeper.
Like he was trying to make up for all the time he had wasted pretending he didn’t want this.
Mia moaned into his mouth, her legs tightening around his waist, pulling him closer, needing more.
Alex didn’t make her wait.
He grabbed her thighs and lifted her effortlessly, holding her up as he carried her out of the kitchen.
Mia buried her face in his neck, kissing the skin there, breathing him in as he walked them to his bedroom.
By the time they reached the bed, they were both breathless, both desperate, both past the point of stopping.
Alex laid her down gently, hovering over her, his hands framing her face as he stared down at her, his expression unreadable.
Mia swallowed, her heart racing.
