“Hold up, who’s Herold?” Theresa asked, staring at her.

The smile on Tania’s face froze the moment she heard the name. “What are you talking about?”

“Herold… he’s ur ex husband, right?”

“Adults‘ business, kids don’t need to pry,” Tania said, patting her on the cheek.

“I’ve met him,” Theresa said casually.

After hearing that, Tania’s expression froze in shock. “Where did you see him?”

After seeing her so tense, Theresa realized Tania’s feelings for Herold ran deeper than she’d imagined. Especially now, knowing the real reason behind their divorce—not some affair or research scandal–she felt a flicker of regret. Both of them had cared, yet they still parted ways.

“When I pulled you out of the Production Company, he let us go,” Theresa said bluntly.

“Really him?”

“Who else in the Starborn Order could defy orders just for you?”

Tania stayed silent for a long moment after hearing that. Then she shook her head. “Impossible. That b*stard never cared about me.”

Theresa looked into her eyes, thought for three seconds, and finally said, “He told me he wasn’t strong enough to protect you.”

She didn’t feel she had the right to make decisions for Tania or hide anything to protect her. She wanted Tania to be happy and to understand everything clearly–no regrets, and no misunderstandings.

Everything Herold had said to Theresa, she passed on to Tania.

It was because he couldn’t protect her that he chose to divorce her. Theresa didn’t know all the reasons, but she knew there had to be one.

Tania froze like she’d been struck by lightning. After a long pause, she let out a soft laugh. Her eyes lit up bright. “I knew it!”

“Aunt Tania…”

“Hmph! I knew my charm was unbeatable. That idiot could never have thrown me away!”

Theresa rolled her eyes but smiled anyway, watching Tania come alive again. “Yeah, you’re one of a kind. So, are you ready for a new suitor and a fresh start?”

Tania turned to her. “Who is it? Another blind fool falling into my trap?”

Theresa looked at Tania, grinning. “Be honest… You still can’t forget Herold, right?”

“Don’t even mention that idiot. I used to think he was a jerk. Now I just think he’s brainless,” Tania said, standing up from the bed and stretching. “I hate idiots the most.”

She said it like she didn’t have a care in the world.

Theresa knew her well. Tania was the kind of person who would never admit weakness.

Just like back when Theresa had pulled her out of that d*mn camp, Tania had gone through hell, and yet she acted completely unbothered, never letting anyone see the scars or the humiliation she’d endured. Or like that time she lied about why she got divorced. She had clearly been dumped, but she never told a soul.

Tania always put on a strong front, dealing with everything on her own.

“Alright, Terry, thanks for telling me all that. I don’t think I could’ve figured it out on my own,” Tania said, cupping Theresa’s cheek. “What’s done is done. All we can do is move forward, right?”

Theresa met her gaze and nodded firmly. “Right.”

Tania might have been stubborn, but she was genuinely strong.
