Next morning, he wore his formal clothes for his work. He was buttoning his coat when his eyes fell on those two house helpers, who were cleaning the mess which he had created last night in this room.
His eyes travelled down towards those broken glass pieces and those blood stains, which immediately made him recall about that girl, whose thoughts didn't let him sleep a wink last night. And not just only last night, her thoughts had not left her since the day he married her and brought her here in his life.
He sighed and looked towards his palm. He didn't even try to treat his wound, but his mind clearly remembered how concerned she was looking last night after seeing his hand bleeding. She even tried to lessen his physical pain.
But it could have just been her sympathy, as he treated her wound too, and he didn't want her sympathy. He could endure her hatred but not her sympathy.
He hated taking sympathy from anyone for anything, even if it made him the most cruel person of existence.
He loathed receiving sympathy, because this made him recall how vulnerable and helpless he used to be, and this girl's denial and rejection were making him feel his past over and over again, and this time more ruthlessly.
Exhaling a heavy breath, he looked away and grabbed his belonging from the table. Putting his wallet and phone inside his pocket, he took a first and last glance at his reflection, and then walked out of the room with the hope, she might have not shown her anger to her wound in any way.
Because he was aware of how stubborn she could be, especially when she was angry or hurt, which she clearly had turned last night because of him.
Theron entered the main hall of the mansion, and he saw his mother, who was sitting on the sofa and was reading the newspaper, along with drinking her morning coffee. Sensing his presence, she took her head upward and passed him a smile, which he returned with a soft nod.
“Good morning, son,” Winona stood up on her feet. Theron walked in her direction.
“Morning,” he wished her back, and Winona clearly caught that blank and tired look on her son's face, which made her understand that he had not slept the entire night last night and she already knew because of whom.
That girl…. Eizlina.
Winona passed him a warm smile and asked, “Are you leaving for work?”
Theron just nodded his head, keeping his mouth closed.
“I have something important to discuss with you, so can we talk now?” She asked him, and once he slowly nodded his head in agreement.
“Sit, then…I will tell someone to bring coffee for you,” Winona uttered, and was about to call a house help, but he stopped her by saying, “No, thanks. I don't need it,”
Winona listened to him and just nodded. Theron sat on the sofa, opposite to his mother.
“So, I heard about the invitation of our business client, Mr. Linwood which is going to happen tonight,” she spoke out and it didn't shock him as to how his mother got to know about Mr. Linwood’s invitation for the business party because his mother looked after the business too, along with the other property, assets and house.
Winona had her control over almost every single penny of the Elzaek.
“So I hope you are going to attend it tonight as our country's almost every big name is going to be present there, so I think you should be going there too,” Winona uttered him, earning a heavy sigh from him.
His reaction told her that he had no interest in attending any such kind of parties because Theron hated crowds and being the part of a crowd. Even though he had such a big and well reputed name, both in the business and outside world, he still hated getting attention. This was one of the biggest reasons, he had always stayed out of the limelight and the eyes of this world, which she didn't like at all.
