“He might be after the core data from the drone project,” Alexander said, his eyes snapping open. “Danielle is a key member of the Aerospace Institute’s program. She has access to a lot of critical information. Nathan has always been interested in our drone technology. He tried to get involved several times, but I always refused him. Now that he has Danielle, he could be trying to force her to give him that data.”

Gian nodded in agreement. “That’s a strong possibility. The drone project involves national security. If that data were to leak, the consequences would be catastrophic. Nathan is ruthless enough to do something like that for profit.”

“So what do we do now?” Kirsten asked, looking between them. “We can’t just sit here while Nathan threatens her and tries to steal state secrets.”

“First, we need to find the coordinates of that island,” Gian said. “Once we know where she is, we can plan a rescue operation. Alexander, is there any way for you to find out where Nathan bought that island?”

Alexander shook his head. “Nathan is meticulous. He would have used an overseas shell corporation to handle the purchase, making it almost impossible to trace. However, I’ve already got Nash looking into his recent financial transactions and foreign contacts. We might find a lead there.”

Alexander nodded and saw them to the door.

Returning to the room, he picked up his phone and dialed Nash. “Nash, what’s the status? Any leads on the island?”
