Nathan turned and saw Gian standing under a nearby streetlight. Dressed in a black suit, Gian exuded a calm, commanding presence. Behind him were several agents from the Strategic Intelligence Agency, their badges clearly visible.
"Gian? What are you doing here?" Nathan's brow furrowed with suspicion. He never expected Gian to track him down, let alone with federal agents in tow.
Gian approached him, his expression grave. "I'm here to persuade you to stop."
"Nathan, you've kidnapped a top-tier national engineer, an act that jeopardizes national security. It's not too late to turn back."
"If you hand over Danielle Crawford and cooperate with the investigation, the law might show you some leniency."
"Leniency?" Nathan scoffed, his eyes filled with derision. "Spare me the phony act, Gian."
"Danielle is my guest. This isn't a kidnapping, so don't you dare make baseless accusations."
"A guest?" Gian's laugh was cold. "Trapping someone on an isolated island and cutting off all contact with the outside world—is that how you treat a guest?"
"Did you really think your little tricks would fool everyone, Nathan? We have more than enough evidence to prove you kidnapped Danielle with the intent to steal state secrets."
The color drained from Nathan's face. He knew Gian wouldn't have confronted him like this unless he was fully prepared.
But he was out of options and had no choice but to push forward.
"I'll say it one last time: I didn't kidnap Danielle, and I didn't steal any state secrets," Nathan said forcefully. "You'd better get out of my way, Gian, or you'll regret it."

But then he thought of all the years he'd endured and sacrificed, only to have Alexander constantly overshadow him, and the resentment and fury surged back.
"I don't need your fake sympathy," Nathan snarled, shoving an agent aside and turning to board the boat. "No one is stopping me!"
Gian's eyes turned to ice. He nodded to his men. "Stop him."
Several agents immediately moved in, surrounding Nathan. He struggled, but they held him fast, pinning him in place.
"Nathan, you're under arrest," Gian said, producing a pair of handcuffs and stepping in front of him.

Oh poor Bianca... regrets, regrets :)...
This is it! Revenge. Way to go Dani....
OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
I hope not a lot of important dialogues get cut out, especially between Danielle and Alexander. But I can't complain, really. Thank you again for the updates....
