Too Late She Already Married Mr. Right (Sophia) novel Chapter 101

Chapter 101

When the call ended, Emily looked up at Lucas, tears streaming down her face. Her voice trembled as she choked out, “Lucas, are you in love with my sister?”

Lucas sat on the couch, restless and on edge, lighting up a cigarette. “Go to your room and get some sleep, Emily. Don’t worry about me.”

Emily, however, wouldn’t let it go. She walked up to him in a few quick steps. “Lucas, you promised you’d never fall in love with her. If you do, what will happen to me?”

Lucas, fully caught up in his frustration, tipped his head back only to feel a tear from Emily rolling down and landing right on his face, jolting him.

Seeing how upset and wronged Emily looked, Lucas was suddenly snapped back to reality. ‘Did I seriously just shout at Emily?

‘How could I yell at the person I care about most for Sophia?‘ he thought, guilt washing over him.

He reached out, pulling her into his arms and holding her gently. “I’m sorry, Emily. I’m just all worked up because Sophia’s been losing it lately.

“But I swear, I’m not in love with her. No matter what, you’re the only one I’ll ever love. That’s never going to change.”

Emily’s sobs wracked her body, sounding so pitiful and broken. She looked up at him, voice trembling. “Really?”

“Really,” Lucas said gently, his tone full of sincerity. “Trust me.”

Emily wiped her tears and held out her little finger. “Then swear you won’t change.” After a moment’s hesitation, Lucas swore, promising that he would love only her for the rest of his life.

After they sealed the promise, Emily finally relaxed, snuggling into Lucas’s arms. “Lucas, let’s just go to bed. Forget about her.”

Anyway, they only kept Sophia around to have their kids for them.

Emily couldn’t stand the agony of pregnancy or the way it would mess with her figure. With Sophia as the designated baby- maker, Emily could skip all the suffering herself.

Lucas stubbed out his cigarette in the ashtray, then scooped Emily up in his arms and strode upstairs. Not long after, suggestive sounds of love could be heard coming from the guest room.

The night was quiet, the house still. Emily lay asleep, her head resting on Lucas’s arm, a few fresh hickeys visible on her neck. But Lucas couldn’t sleep. He stared up at the ceiling, his mind racing.

But the man who actually owned her treated her like nothing more than a rock by the roadside, never even knowing her true worth.

Sophia stirred from her sleep, her breath filled with the soothing scent of ocean air and cool mint that made her feel safe.

She slowly opened her eyes; everything was quiet and still around her. Right next to her ear, she could hear the gentle rhythm of someone breathing.

She snapped awake, seeing the reflection in the glass doors. She sat up quickly. The thin blanket fell off, and she felt a chill, shivering slightly.

‘I must be out of my mind. How did I get so bold, falling asleep against Richard, Sophia thought, a flush creeping up her cheeks.

“Mr. Sterling, I’m so sorry.” Sophia blurted, panicking a little. “I have no idea how I ended up crashing out like that. Are you alright? I didn’t squish your shoulder, did I?”

Richard was an important person, and if she had hurt him by using him as a pillow, she really wouldn’t be able to make it up

to him.
