Richard froze, his gaze darkening as he looked at Sophia. His voice was husky as he asked, "Are you sure?"
Sophia paused, her hand hovering over the medicine. She turned to meet his eyes.
After a moment, she looked away first, staring at the ointment in her hand. She mumbled, "I don't even know where you're hurt—if you take your shirt off, | can check.”
Richard's lips curled into a faint smile as he quickly took off his shirt.
"You really don't have to explain. | get it," he said.
Sophia heard the soft rustle of his shirt and, unable to resist, stole a glance at him out of the corner of her eye.
Richard took off his shirt with effortless confidence, revealing a strong, sculpted upper body.
He always looked so slim and unassuming in a suit, but underneath, Richard was pure muscle.
His chest was broad and defined, eight-pack abs on full display, and those sharp V-lines trailing down and vanishing into his waistband-—kind of makes a girl's thoughts go wild.
Sophia thought, 'Chiseled muscles, a waist so enviable it should be illegal—seriously, this man is just perfection.
Richard chuckled and teased, "Ms. Evans, if you want to look, go ahead and enjoy the view—no charge."
Sophia's heart jumped in panic at being busted. She thought, ‘God, just let me disappear right now.
Her face was burning. Sophia hurried to defend herself, "| wasn't peeking!"
Richard just shrugged with a careless smile, "Doesn't bother me if you were."
He was plenty proud of his physique—he had zero qualms about Sophia stealing a glance at him.
Honestly, if showing off his abs could actually knock Sophia out, Richard would count that as a win.
Richard's playful teasing left Sophia completely at his mercy. She thought, ‘Whatever, may as well look if he’s giving me a free pass.
She asked, "Mr. Sterling, great body. Is this what you do in front of other women, too?"
Richard found her feisty reaction surprisingly entertaining.
"Nope, just for you," he replied.
He was laying his cards right out on the table, and Sophia's heart skipped a beat.
Her gaze flickered, and she quietly stepped around to stand behind Richard.
His skin was that pale, almost porcelain white, and after soaking in the hot water, his back was streaked with red marks.
