Emily winced in pain, tears welling up in her eyes. "Annabelle, let go of me!"
Annabelle gripped her hair tightly. "What did you do to Uncle Richard?"
Emily let out a sharp scream, spotting Sophia standing outside the tent, too scared to come any closer.
Suddenly, Emily let out a harsh, eerie cackle that sent shivers down everyone's spine.
"What do you think I could've done to him?" Emily shot back, her voice heavy with mockery.
Annabelle's eyes flickered, her body tense as Richard's agonized gasps echoed nearby. Rage twisted her face, her eyes glittering with cold fury.
"So, when did you manage to pull this off? We've been keeping tabs on you every moment, making sure you didn't have a chance to mess with anything," Annabelle snapped.
From the minute Emily arrived, Annabelle and Sophia never took their eyes off her-they hadn't even let her touch a single drink.
"When did she even manage to slip the drug in?' Annabelle thought to herself, suspicious and on edge.
Emily laughed so hard that tears nearly streamed down her face.
Annabelle, beyond furious, yanked her hair and pushed her down onto the grass.
"What's so funny? You got a death wish or something?" Annabelle snapped.
Emily reached back instinctively, clawing at Annabelle's hand, leaving bloody scratches on her own wrist.
"Annabelle, don't think I'm so easy to bully," Emily said fiercely, springing up from the ground and going at Annabelle, both of them locked in a wild struggle.
Sophia didn't really know what was going on inside the tent. Since Richard had warned her to stay away, she'd just kept her distance.
But when she saw Emily and Annabelle going at each other, there was no way Sophia was just gonna stand around and do nothing.
She rushed over, slammed her foot into Emily's back, then jumped onto her, straddling her waist and smacking her face hard on both sides.
"Emily, you really are something else! Was Lucas not enough for you? You had to come flaunt your trashy ways in front of us too?" Sophia snapped
The thought that her own slip-up had left Richard suffering like this tore at Sophia inside-she just couldn't forgive herself.
Sophia knew Emily was bad news, but she still let her get close-and now she couldn't forgive herself for it.
Emily felt her face burn and go numb from the slaps. She lunged for Sophia, but Annabelle grabbed her wrists and pinned her down so hard she couldn't move at all.
Emily glared at Sophia, her eyes blazing with hatred. "Sophia, you
actually hit me? You're gonna get what's coming to you!"
Sophia was so furious her palms were practically on fire, and when she finally stopped, Emily's face was so swollen she looked unrecognizable. Blood was smeared at the corner of her mouth-she couldn't even speak.
"Sophia, just wait. I'm telling Mom, Dad, and my brother. The Evanses won't let you off easy," Emily threatened
Sophia stood up and kicked her hard in the stomach. "Go ahead, tell them. See if they keep pampering you like you're their darling once they find out what a shameless flirt you really are."
Emily felt a chill run through her veins.
