Too Late She Already Married Mr. Right (Sophia) novel Chapter 41

Her repeated insults finally broke his control. A cold, humorless laugh escaped him. His hand moved to her neck again, but this time with a false, cruel tenderness that was more terrifying than his rage.

He yanked her into the elevator, arm iron–bar tight. “Save the gasoline, baby. One way or another, you’re going to carry my kid. And you’ll stay with me for a lifetime.”

A cold dread, colder than any ice, seeped into Sophia’s bones. ‘What did he mean? He doesn’t just want a child. He wants to keep me trapped forever as their live–in nanny?‘

At the Evans Group, David’s phone vibrated with an incoming call. The voice on the other end was hushed, yet unmistakable. “Mr. Evans, I followed your instructions. I informed Mr. Westwood about his wife’s condition. He now intends for Mrs. Westwood to undergo IVF.”

A slow, cold smile touched David’s lips as he tapped a pen against his desk. “Good. The remaining three hundred thousand will be in your account by the end of the day.”

“Thank you, Sir. But there’s something else.” Samantha hesitated. “I’m not sure if you’re aware, but Mrs. Westwood… she’s already pregnant. Nearly eight weeks along.”

The

pen in David’s hand stilled. “Come again?” he snapped, his voice dropping to a dangerous whisper.

He knew nothing of this. Emily had called him that morning, saying Lucas was taking Sophia for a check–up.

She’d asked him to arrange a doctor to falsify a diagnosis of ovulation disorder. He’d thought it a simple, if unusual, favor. But that specific one, the head of OB/GYN at Unity Care Hospital, happened to be Frank’s contact.

Samantha sensed the shift in his tone immediately. “Sir, Mrs. Westwood is deliberately keeping the pregnancy from her husband. There seems to be a significant disconnect between them.”

‘One wants to hide the pregnancy, the other wants his wife to get IVF, she thought. If there weren’t problems in the relationship, such a massive miscommunication would be impossible.

“Just stick to the task you’re paid for,” David cut in, his voice icy. “Do not speculate on matters that don’t concern you.”

Emily’s heart plummeted. ‘Sophia? For what reason?”

“Once her body is optimally prepared, we’ll proceed with the IVF,” Lucas explained, as if discussing a business merger. “You get the baby you’ve always wanted. No stretch marks, no labor.”

In his mind, it was a perfect, cruel solution. It granted Emily her deepest desire while chaining Sophia to him forever.

Emily’s gaze flicked to Sophia, who sat motionless on the sofa, looking utterly broken. A wave of triumphant malice washed over her. That sounds… generous. But wouldn’t that be terribly unfair to Sophia?”

“Unfair?” Lucas’s voice was deliberately loud, meant to cut through the room and wound the woman on the couch. “It’s her own deficiency. If she can’t conceive naturally, she should be grateful for this opportunity to fulfill her duty.”

A smile that truly reached her eyes finally broke through Emily’s carefully constructed facade. “You’re too kind to me, Lucas. I’ll take such good care of her. Cross my heart.”
