Too Late She Already Married Mr. Right (Sophia) novel Chapter 57

Chapter 57

Lucas, still smarting from his earlier defeat at Annabelle’s hands, showed up with ten bodyguards in tow.

The bodyguards quickly pinned Annabelle down in front of Emily. She struggled to push herself up, but one of them kicked her hard in the back of the knee, sending her crashing back onto her knees with a heavy thud.

Pain shot through her body, making her tremble. She gritted her teeth tightly, swallowing back a cry of pain. She didn’t want to alert Sophie.

Cold sweat broke out on her forehead as she glared at Lucas, baring her teeth. She said, “I really underestimated just how shameless you could be.”

If it weren’t for Sophia’s condition being too fragile to move, Annabelle would’ve already had her transferred to another hospital.

Lucas’s eyes simmered with rage, his face set in a deadly scowl. He looked every bit like the devil himself.

You wanted to make Emily’s face swollen, right?” Lucas motioned with his hand. “Come on, smash her face and make it swell.”

Annabelle retorted, “Lucas, if you dare lay a finger on me, you’re going up against the entire Quinn family!”

“You think I’m afraid of the Quinn family? Do it, and don’t hold back!” Lucas snarled.

The bodyguards didn’t dare defy him. One of them had his hand raised, about to slap Annabelle across her beautiful face- when suddenly, a voice as faint as a whisper drifted in from behind.

“Stop! Let her go,” Sophia called out.

She was standing pale in the doorway, leaning heavily against the doorframe. Her voice was so weak that it might break at any second. If it wasn’t for her grip, she would’ve collapsed right there.

She hurt all over; each step from the bed to the door had wrung out every last bit of strength she had. Cold sweat drenched her hospital gown, and when the breeze swept through, she couldn’t stop shivering.

Lucas’s gaze was like a cold, venomous snake, winding itself tightly around Sophia, refusing to let go.

“Get over here and beg me. Maybe then I’ll let her go,” Lucas said.

Annabelle couldn’t believe how despicable Lucas was. She roared, her anger exploding. “Lucas, you scum. You’ll regret this.”

She cursed herself for letting her guard down. Right after Lucas left, she should’ve doubled the security. If she’d done that, Lucas never would’ve had a chance to pull this stunt.

“Sophie, don’t do it! I’d rather get my face slapped swollen than see you beg him,” Annabelle yelled.

close to hers.

“So you’d really beg me for her? Sophia, your shamelessness is honestly beyond anything I imagined,” he spat.

Sophia was in unbearable pain, thick beads of cold sweat rolling down her forehead. Not a trace of color remained on her lips.

“Is this enough? Will you let Annabelle go now?” Sophia struggled to say.

Lucas squeezed her throat even tighter, like he actually wanted to snap her slender neck right there.

“Slap her!” he shouted.

Lucas’s furious, icy voice slammed into Sophia’s ears. Sophia’s anger exploded, and her vision went black from rage.

As she slipped into unconsciousness, she could still hear the endless slaps and Annabelle’s muffled cries of pain. She hated Lucas so much in that moment that she just wanted to tear him apart.

She wondered, ‘How could I have been so blind, falling in love with a devil who never keeps his word?‘
