Trapped in the boss's embrace (by Katrina A) novel Chapter 108

Chapter 108 Leading You Down the Right Path

As the car neared them, it suddenly accelerated, charging straight at Beatrice.

Beatrice quickly stumbled backward.

Her back collided with Desmond, who was chasing after her.

He pulled Beatrice into his chest and started backing away...

But thanks to his interference, what should have been a smooth retreat turned into a stumble.

With his arms around her, Beatrice lost her balance, and they both crashed to the ground.

The car rushing toward them was suddenly intercepted by another vehicle, which forced it to stop.

"Beatie!" Violet's face drained of color as she rushed over from behind them.

She helped Beatrice to her feet and, taking advantage of the chaos, landed a swift kick on Desmond.

Desmond shot Violet a nasty glare before getting up and reaching for Beatrice. "Are you okay?"

"Get lost!" Beatrice jerked away from his touch.

Two people emerged from the stopped cars—Madeline and Ethan.

It was Madeline who had been charging toward Beatrice, while Ethan, who'd just returned with the car, had cut her off.

He'd been following them since last night and had even driven them to the police station.

At that moment, Madeline charged toward Beatrice, her eyes flashing with murderous rage. "You bitch! Even after the divorce, you're still trying to steal him from me!"

Just as she raised her hand, Ethan caught her wrist and dragged her away.

Desmond quickly positioned himself in front of Beatrice, putting on a protective display.

Beatrice remained expressionless as she stepped away from behind him.

She found his fake protectiveness even more disgusting than Madeline's insanity.

"Madeline, what the hell were you about to do?" Desmond's eyes burned with fury. "Didn't I tell you not to touch her? Don't you dare touch her or I'll kill you! What happened to your promises?"

His eyes held no trace of affection—only an inescapable disgust, mixed with something darker and more complex lurking beneath the surface.

Tears welled up in Madeline's eyes. "You're my husband! Why are you even seeing her? I don't want you anywhere near her!"

"She came here to sign the Settlement Agreement! She's already backing down—what more do you want?"

"I want you to never see her again! You can only love me from now on! I should be the only woman in your life! Any woman who gets close to you deserves to die!"

"You're completely insane!" Desmond rubbed his throbbing forehead, feeling suffocated like he was being haunted by a demon.

He stepped closer to her, his gaze dark and terrifying. "I'm warning you one last time—if she suffers even the slightest injury, I will never marry you! No matter what you threaten me with, if it comes down to it, we'll both go down together."

Madeline's eyes immediately welled up with tears.

She clung to his arm, shaking her head pathetically. "I won't do it again, really. I'll never bother her again, I swear.

"I just couldn't control my temper. I only act this way because I love you so much, Desmond. I'm carrying your baby—you can't abandon me. I love you. God, I love you so much."

Desmond felt like his head was about to explode.

His expression remained ice-cold as he stated firmly, "This ends here. From now on, neither of us will disturb her again. Understood?"

Madeline nodded vigorously. "Yes, yes, I'll do whatever you say. I promise—I really, really promise."

As she spoke, she flashed a sickly-sweet, innocent smile at Beatrice, who was watching the whole spectacle with disgust.

"Beatrice, I'm so sorry we hurt you. We won't bother you anymore, but please don't come looking for Desmond either. Stop trying to seduce him."

Beatrice was completely speechless.

May the heavens strike you both down with lightning!

She was increasingly convinced those two belonged in a mental asylum.

She couldn't take it anymore.

When frustration hits a certain point, even cursing feels like a waste of energy.

After taking a few steps away, she turned back and jabbed a finger at them.

"You two... deserve each other. Never separate. Consider it your contribution to humanity."

"How dare you say that!" Madeline glared at Beatrice before her expression shifted to a smug smile. "I know you can't stand it. I told you he'd be mine, and now you've got nothing. I win."

Beatrice played along, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Yeah. I've got nothing, and you win. He's all yours now."

Beatrice's obvious mockery made Madeline absolutely livid.

"What do you mean 'nothing'?"

A voice suddenly joined their conversation from behind the group, seamlessly inserting itself into their drama.
