Trapped in The Boss’s Embrace
Chapter 13 Rejection
At that time, Scarlett was already waiting for Beatrice at the practice field.
She was dressed in a pale yellow romper, her long, wavy hair cascading over her shoulders, giving her a youthful and irresistibly charming vibe.

She looked Beatrice up and down and chuckled. “Why cover up all your curves, hon?”
Beatrice smiled lightly. “I’m here for the job, not a fashion show.”
She didn’t think there was anything wrong with her outfit.
Beatrice wore a fresh, water–blue tracksuit, her hair tied up neatly in a high ponytail, and her makeup was natural and refreshing.
Scarlett raised an eyebrow. “Sweetie, men are visual creatures. If Damian just wanted a pretty face for the job, it wouldn’t still be
open.”
With that, she playfully poked Beatrice. “Well, beauty and brains aren’t mutually exclusive, right? Lucky for you, I brought an extra set. Our sizes are pretty close. You can borrow it.”
Without giving her a chance to protest, Scarlett dragged Beatrice

to the locker room.
Knowing she needed Scarlett’s recommendation, Beatrice didn’t
argue.
When she stepped out of the locker room, she looked entirely different.
Wearing a white, form–fitting top and a black pleated skirt, she was unmistakably seductive.
The outfit accentuated her curves while her long legs made her look even more striking. It was hard to deny that she could captivate anyone’s attention with just one glance.
“OMG!” Scarlett gasped dramatically, covering her mouth. “Beatrice, I had no idea you have a heaven–sent body!
Desmond’s seriously missing out, and honestly, what’s Madeline got that you don’t?”
Beatrice quickly ignored the last part, her gaze lingering
uneasily in the mirror. She was afraid Damian might think she was trying to flirt with him.
“Scarlett, I think…”
“Shh,” Scarlett hushed her, pulling out her phone and answering the call. “Hey, Mr. Langley, you’re with Mr. Crowley already? We’re on our way.”
Beatrice knew there was no going back now. She couldn’t change out of this outfit.
A while later, they made their way to meet Xavier.
On the way, Beatrice hesitated before asking, “Scarlett, have you ever met Damian?”
“Actually, yes. When I was about six, my parents took me to visit. the Crowley family. He was just a little kid back then, so chubby and cute. But after my family hit hard times, we never contacted. He left for abroad when he was about ten, so we haven’t seen much of him. since.”
“Ah, I see…” Beatrice couldn’t help but imagine what Damian must have looked like as a child.
The golf cart turned a corner, and suddenly, a wide stretch of grass appeared before them.
In the distance were forests and lakes, and nearby, two men dressed in sportswear were engaged in conversation.
Beatrice’s eyes locked onto one of them in stunned silence.
It was Xavier, wearing a dark blue top and camel–colored pants.
Beside him stood a man a good half a head taller, dressed in a sleek white sports outfit. His broad shoulders and narrow waist exuded a regal, graceful air.
As he turned his face towards the light, his sharp features were illuminated, making him look almost impossibly handsome.
Her mind went completely blank.
She had met Xavier before, so there was no doubt that the man standing next to him was Damian.
“Damian!”
Scarlett whispered excitedly, her voice barely contained. “My goodness. He’s nothing like he was as a kid. He grew up so tall and handsome! I’m literally swooning!”
“Oh no…”
“Are you falling for him too? Can’t resist Damian’s charm, huh?”
Beatrice’s expression grew stiff, looking more embarrassed than anything else.
The golf cart came to a stop, and both men turned to look at them.
Xavier waved with a smile, his gaze settling on Beatrice, clearly impressed.
A flash of surprise flickered in Damian’s eyes before it was quickly replaced by a chilling coldness, making him seem distant and hard to approach.
Scarlett led Beatrice over.
Though the situation seemed unlikely, Beatrice still hoped for a shot at making a good impression.

“Mr. Langley, Mr. Crowley.”
As they approached, Scarlett greeted them enthusiastically, then quickly turned to Damian with a grin. “This is my good friend, Beatrice. She came all the way here just to see your golfing skills. today.”
Inside, Beatrice was feeling a bit anxious, but on the outside, her smile was perfectly in place.
Xavier smirked. “Ah, that explains it. I was wondering why Ms. Lawson was so eager to join us, and all dolled up, no less. Looks like she came for Mr. Crowley, huh? Quite ambitious.”
Beatrice ignored the jab, flashed Xavier a polite smile, then turned to Damian, her tone serious but warm. “Mr. Crowley, it’s an honor to meet you.”
As soon as the words left her mouth, she realized she’d made a mistake and her eyes flickered slightly.
“An honor to meet me?” Damian’s gaze, cool yet intense, locked onto
her face.
Beatrice, maintaining a polite yet slightly strained smile, quickly pretended not to catch the implication.
She added with a bit more enthusiasm, “I’m really glad to finally meet you.”
Her expression was tight, but she was silently hoping he

Damian seemed to understand, a faint smile at the corners of his lips. “You certainly look happy about it.”
His voice, smooth and deep, carried a leasing warmth that made every word feel like it had a touch of fondness.
