Chapter 40 Intimacy
Everyone was stunned and turned toward the door.
A woman leaned weakly against the doorframe, drenched from head to toe, her face pale with scrapes on her forehead and cheeks. Despite her disheveled appearance, she was still stunningly beautiful.
It was Beatrice!
The company and factory staff recognized her instantly–the beautiful secretary.
Damian sprang to his feet and rushed to support her, his eyes lighting up. “Beatrice! Thank God you’re okay.”

Relief flooded him, and he had to resist the urge to pull her into a tight embrace.
Beatrice managed a faint smile. “I’m lucky. I’m not that easy to kill.”
She had lived by the sea with her grandmother before
elementary school and was a strong swimmer. When the waves. crashed, she knew how to get to safety.
“Fortunately, it was my leg that hit the rocks, not my head.”
Scott’s face twisted with despair.
No way! How is it possible that she survived… and still had the strength to make it back to the factory?
Of course, Heatrice didn’t have the strength to walk back on her own. Hor log was gashed open by the rocks, and every step was agony.
She was unfamiliar with the island and didn’t know how to get back.
A kind–hearted girl had passed by on a scooter and brought her here.
She knew Damian must be at the factory, and no matter what, she had to return to expose Daniel and Scott’s crimes!
“You’re hurt. Let me get you to the hospital first,” Damian said, noticing the towel wrapped around her thigh, soaked in blood, a sight that made his stomach churn.
“Let’s deal with this first, I can hold on,” Beatrice insisted, glaring at Scott, 1er cheeks and lips were bloodless, but her eyes burned with fury
Damian could tell she wasn’t going to back down.
Beatrice might seem gentle, but she had a fierce spirit. Even if her leg was broken, she would probably crawl back for revenge.
“Be careful.” Damian warned softly, wrapping his arm around her shoulders and pulling her gently into his embrace.
Chapter 40 Intimacy
Seeing her grit her teeth and sweat through the pain, Damian picked her up, ignoring the shocked stares of the others in the room, and placed her in his seat.
The room watched their intimate interaction, stunned into silence.
Just moments ago, Damian had been criticizing Harper for being obsessed with love.
Harper glared at them, jealousy and anger building in her chest.
But Beatrice only felt a slight easing of her pain. Having narrowly escaped death, she couldn’t afford to think about anything else.
Harper’s phone, still on speaker, lay on the table.
Beatrice glanced down, her eyes catching the contact. She immediately understood.
With a mocking sneer, she spoke. “Mr. Harrington, you’re really bold. At least make sure I’m dead before you start spouting off!”
“Ms. Lawson, I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Scott feigned ignorance.
At that moment, it was just him and Beatrice in the room. There were no witnesses or evidence–her words could be easily dismissed as lies.

Scott quickly turned to Harper, playing on her emotions. “Ms. Reed, her sudden return is just a way to embarrass me. But really, it’s all a ploy to make you look bad in front of Mr. Crowley. She’s manipulative!”
Beatrice was speechless.
He is so shameless!
She had hoped Harper wouldn’t fall for such a ridiculous lie, but to her surprise, Harper glared at her with hatred. “Beatrice, you’re staging this whole thing and framing Mr. Harrington. Dragging everyone out here in the middle of the night just to show us how you can seduce men?”
Beatrice’s eyes widened in disbelief.
Her mind raced.
Is Harper in on it? No, she wouldn’t be that foolish.
Scott must have beaten me to the punch!
“Ms. Reed, I don’t know what he’s told you, but please, give me five minutes to explain everything…”
“Shut up!” Harper roared, cutting her off.
In Harper’s eyes, Beatrice was nothing more than a victim playing for Damian’s attention, triggering his protective instincts. She found it disgusting.
Chapter 40 Intimacy Beatrice was taken aback again.
Scott smirked.
It’s so easy to manipulate a love–struck woman.
Their conversation reached David’s ears as well.
His face darkened, and his sharp eyes narrowed.

“The one who should shut up is you,” Damian finally spoke, his voice calm but filled with authority.
He turned to Harper with a cool, indifferent gaze. “You’re beyond help.”
He had given her chance after chance, hoping she’d come to her senses, but she was still foolishly being used.
Harper’s lips trembled, and tears started streaming down her cheeks.
Beatrice understood now.
Harper’s focus wasn’t on the company at all. Normally, she wouldn’t be so blind.
Beatrice felt frustrated, but there was no time to explain her relationship with Damian to Harper now.
This wasn’t the moment for romantic drama!
Chapter 40 Intimacy
Ignoring Harper, Beatrice turned her burning gaze to Scott. “Mr. Harrington, do you think that because it was just you and me earlier, and I have no evidence, that you can’t be held accountable?”
Caught in the act, Scoll froze.
He fumed, “Ms. Lawson, we don’t have any personal issues. Why are you framing me? You want to impress Mr. Crowley and win his favor. That’s no reason to frame someone!”
Beatrice stared at him coldly. She didn’t respond–she didn’t need to.
Then, turning to Damian, she said, “Mr. Crowley, for the
investigation, I brought a voice recorder with me today. It records continuously for 48 hours.
“I kept it hidden under my chest. It’s now at the old house by the sea. I’ll draw you a map. Please send someone to retrieve it. Everything Mr. Harrington, Mr. Ward, and the others at the factory said is recorded. I can prove the truth right now.”
Several people in the room–including Scott–began to panic.
“There’s no need for a map. That’s Daniel’s house. He’s already confessed.”
Damian dropped the bombshell.
He called Killian in front of everyone, instructing him to find the voice recorder and bring Daniel back.
