Chapter 45 Misunderstanding

“I’m not exactly the generous type, and I don’t usually let strangers hitch a ride on my plane for free. So, what should I do about this…” Damian said casually.
Seeing Desmond’s face darken as he swallowed his frustration, Damian suddenly chuckled and switched up his tone.
“Since we’re both from Cloudia, I’ll give you a market rate. Mr. Belmont, don’t forget to transfer the payment.”
He spoke like he was doing charity work, a hint of condescension in his voice.
Desmond was so furious he could barely breathe.
And yet, he couldn’t blow up, not when he needed Damian’s plane.
Beatrice pretended not to hear their exchange.
Desmond is swallowing his pride? That’s a first.
Usually, he’d just walk away without a backwards glance.
As if reading her thoughts, Desmond shot her a look.
See what I’m doing for you?

Catching his meaningful gaze, Beatrice fought the urge to snort.
Oh, playing the martyr now?
Did you expect me to swoon because you’re “enduring” this? Please.
After boarding the plane, she posted a picture on Facebook.
A snapshot of the bright blue sky above the airport, the sunlit runway, and a glimpse of Desmond in the VIP lounge.
She captioned it: [My lovely vacation ruined. So annoying. How do I shake off a clingy pest?]
Her words carried provocation as if she were deliberately sending a message to someone. “See? The man you want still loves me.”
Not long after she posted, Damian glanced up at her.
Feeling his sharp gaze, Beatrice blinked in confusion.
She had used her Cloudia phone for the post and had blocked most people from seeing it.
Her parents, relatives, and close friends were all excluded.
But she had forgotten… Gordon could still see it.
And the moment she posted it, Gordon saw it.

Spotting Desmond in the background, Gordon assumed she had been taken against her will.
He immediately took a screenshot and sent it to Damian, asking him to rescue the poor Beatrice.
Damian received Gordon’s message; his face darkened.
Poor? Please. She’s just showing off!
So that’s her game… All this attitude with Desmond is just for show.
She wants Desmond back, doesn’t she?
He realized he had underestimated this woman.
Beatrice felt uneasy under Damian’s gaze.
She had posted that status on purpose, trying to provoke Madeline, hoping she’d do something to win Desmond back.
“Do you want to sleep for a bit?” Desmond asked, leaning slightly toward her.
“I’m not sleepy,” Beatrice replied, shifting her focus back to a magazine.
“You didn’t eat much this morning. Do you want something to eat?”
“Not hungry.”

“Maybe some fruit?”
Beatrice ignored him.
Desmond, undeterred, called over a flight attendant to bring a fruit platter.
He peeled a grape and offered it to her. She refused. He coaxed her in a soft voice as if she were just throwing a little tantrum.
She was determined not to eat, but Desmond was determined to feed her.
They went back and forth, tugging and pushing.
With Damian and Killian also on board, Beatrice couldn’t lose her temper or raise her voice. She could only whisper her protests.
But to the onlookers, it seemed less like an argument and more like… flirting.
Damian frowned, tempted to throw them both off the plane.
“Fine! I’ll eat, okay?”
Seeing that Desmond wouldn’t let up and was intent on
embarrassing her, Beatrice snatched the fruit platter and began eating.
Desmond smiled indulgently. “I knew you wanted to eat. You
always say one thing and mean another.”
Upon hearing that, Beatrice nearly choked on the cherry tomato she had just swallowed.
Back in Cloudia, Madeline was fuming after spotting Beatrice’s post on Lillian’s phone.
Madeline had cleverly leaked her own Facebook posts to Beatrice through mutual connections to flaunt her affair with Desmond.
Every post about Desmond was meant for Beatrice. Now, Beatrice was using the same tactic against her.
The difference was that their situations had now reversed.
Among the people Beatrice deliberately didn’t block were a few of Desmond’s buddies‘ girlfriends, and the other one was Lillian.
Lillian had been the one who invited Beatrice to the club, making sure she saw Desmond and Madeline together.
Beatrice was sure that Madeline had orchestrated it.
Later, she learned that Lillian’s husband was trying to curry favor with the Fairfax family. That was why Lillian had become Madeline’s lapdog.
Now, with Lillian seeing Beatrice’s post, there was no doubt she
Chapter 45 Misunderstanding would report it back to her “master.”
“I won’t lose to that bitch Beatrice! Desmond is mine!”
Madeline screamed as she smashed everything in her room.
Ever since she had been released from the police station, her family had locked her up at home, forbidding her from going
out.
