Trash Husband, I'm the Top novel Chapter 194

“Nora, this is mine now. You have no right to keep anything that belongs to me,” Eleanor said coolly, her gaze sharp.

Nora’s whole body trembled. She dug her nails into her palm, her lips drained of color.

The very first thing Daniel did when he returned was to put Eleanor’s name on the perfume brand Nora had spent years building from scratch.

How could he?

What gave him the right?

“Nora,” Eleanor spoke her name, her voice thick with malice. “She’s mine—Aurora belongs to me, and so does everything she ever owned. You, no matter how close you were to her, will always end up with nothing.”

“I told you,” Nora growled, her voice raw and desperate, “you don’t deserve to call her Aurora.”

Eleanor smiled, finally letting out the resentment she’d been holding in for so long. “If you can convince Louis to drop the charges against Dad, maybe I’ll consider letting you go.”

Their father, Jordan, was still in jail. Louis had testified that he’d been kidnapped—unless the charges were dropped, Jordan would definitely serve time.

Nora let out a bitter, hollow laugh. “Oh, please. Aren’t you supposed to be so capable, Eleanor? Go beg him yourself. Get your father out if you can.”

Eleanor’s satisfaction evaporated in an instant. She stared at Nora, cold hatred flickering in her eyes. “You’ll end up in jail too, Nora.”

Without another word, she turned and walked away.

Nora collapsed back into her seat, her face as blank and lifeless as a puppet’s.

She had no idea how much time passed before she heard anxious voices nearby.

“She’s bleeding!”

“Call an ambulance—now!”

When Nora opened her eyes again, she was lying in a hospital bed.

She stared at the ceiling, her skin pale and clammy, her eyes utterly devoid of life.

Louis was there when she woke. He hesitated before saying softly, “You’re pregnant.”

Nora’s empty gaze shifted, and her hand moved subconsciously to her abdomen.

A child?

It was her fault. She had failed to protect what Aurora loved.

“Hardly anyone knows I’m pregnant. I want to do this now, before word gets out,” she whispered.

That way, Daniel would never know. He wouldn’t have a reason to change his mind about Payne’s illness.

She had made up her mind.

Louis went to ask the doctor and soon returned.

The doctor strongly advised against it, warning that the procedure would be very risky for her health. But if the patient insisted, they would go ahead.

Nora closed her eyes. “Do it. As soon as possible.”

She didn’t sleep at all that night.

Her hand stayed pressed to her stomach, unmoving, as if she could somehow memorize the feeling.

At dawn, a nurse arrived to draw blood and run some tests. If everything was clear, the operation would take place immediately.
