Trash Husband, I'm the Top novel Chapter 238

“Is Mr. Frost all right?” she asked softly.

“He’s much better now,” Warner replied with a wry smile. “I was hoping to meet up with you, but then I heard you’d been hospitalized. Bad timing, I suppose.”

“When I’m feeling better, I’ll go visit Mr. Frost,” Nora said.

Warner nodded. “You know, Ms. Susan had a real gift for perfumery. She used to create her own fragrances all the time. I remember she even wrote a book of formulas.”

He sighed, shaking his head with a hint of nostalgia. “That book is with you now. With it, you could go even further in this field.”

Nora’s brows drew together in confusion. “What book?”

Warner paused, clearly surprised. “Ms. Susan’s notes. Didn’t she give them to you?”

Nora shook her head. She had never heard of any such notes.

Back when she and Aurora were learning the art of fragrance from Susan, Susan had always taught them personally, guiding them step by step. She had never once shown them any written notes.

Warner was silent for a moment, regret clouding his gentle features. “Maybe Susan thought you were learning so well that you didn’t need the notes,” he offered.

Then, as if trying to lighten the mood, he changed the subject. “My grandfather was devastated when he heard about Ms. Susan. He’s thinking of taking on another apprentice, perhaps his last.”

There was hope in his eyes as he looked at her. “Nora, I really hope you’ll become his apprentice.”

“When?” Nora perked up, excitement flickering in her chest.

She had always wanted to refine her skills further, and learning from Mr. Frost would be an incredible honor.

“He’s planning to host a Perfumery Congress to select the most promising candidates,” Warner explained. “Once the date is set, I’ll let you know.”

Nora was about to accept when Daniel’s voice called out from the doorway.

“She won’t be participating.”

The smile faded from Nora’s face.

Warner shot Daniel a look of barely concealed displeasure. In his eyes, Daniel was holding Nora back from becoming the next great master perfumer.

Una turned her head, pretending not to notice.

Nora could tell Daniel wanted to bring up something serious. She patted Una’s shoulder. “Una, you’ve got a lot to take care of at the shop. You should head back.”

Una stood reluctantly, making a point as she did. “Some people are useless, but if you need anything, just call me.”

Nora knew she was taking a jab at Daniel and smiled. “I will.”

Una let out a huff and left.

Just then, Hans walked in, and the two crossed paths in the doorway, both stopping for a brief moment.

Emotion flickered across Una’s face and she clenched her fists.

Nora noticed Una hadn’t moved and asked, “Are you all right?”

Una snapped out of it, her tense posture relaxing. “I’m fine,” she said quietly, brushing past Hans without a backward glance. She never looked back.
