Trash Husband, I'm the Top novel Chapter 311

Daniel tightened his grip on her wrist, then slid his hand down to clasp her palm.

“I told you—I’m here to take you home.”

That was all that mattered to him right now.

As for Eleanor, Will would handle things on that front.

“I want to stay with Una,” Nora protested, her reluctance plain.

“I’ll arrange for a nurse to look after her.” Daniel’s tone brooked no argument.

Left with no choice, Nora relented.

After what happened with Una today, Daniel was probably already holding a grudge. If she kept resisting, there was no telling when his patience would snap and Una would suffer for it.

So she obediently followed him out.

At the hospital’s main entrance, Mrs. Quinn came running toward them, disheveled and desperate. She blocked their path.

“Dan, you can’t leave.” Her eyes were swollen and red as she pleaded with Daniel. “Please, just go see Eleanor. She’s not well.”

Nora tugged her hand, trying to slip away.

But Daniel only gripped her tighter, his face expressionless as he looked at Mrs. Quinn. “I’ve already done what I promised her.”

Anything beyond that was no longer his concern.

“The wedding’s ruined, it doesn’t count,” Mrs. Quinn persisted. “Dan, please, only you can comfort her. She needs you.”

Eleanor was not in a good way.

“It was just a ceremony. They’re already married,” Daniel said, impatience creeping into his voice. “If she needs comfort, she should turn to Hans. He’s her husband now.”

“But—” Mrs. Quinn bit her lip, about to continue, when someone shoved her hard from behind.

“That’s enough. The Quinns really don’t know when to quit, do they?” Mrs. Chambers stormed over, her voice sharp as she pointed a finger in Mrs. Quinn’s face. “You can’t control your own husband and now you’re coming after Dan? The nerve of you people.”

Mrs. Quinn’s temper flared.

But Mrs. Quinn wasn’t finished. Her voice rose, shrill and desperate. “Not enough, Daniel! Those people were going to kill you, and Eleanor nearly died saving you! Even now, she still has nightmares. You can’t just abandon her.”

“She’s had plenty of help from Dan over the years,” Mrs. Chambers said icily. “You’re not family. Don’t push your luck.”

“Not family?” Mrs. Quinn echoed, a bitter laugh tearing from her throat. “Not family—how could we possibly not be family…”

She kept muttering, her composure unraveling.

Fixing Mrs. Chambers with a look full of pity and scorn, she said, “Why don’t you ask your son what his relationship with Eleanor really is?”

Something in her tone caught Mrs. Chambers off guard.

She turned abruptly to Daniel, eyes narrowing. “What is she talking about?”

“What is Eleanor to you?”

Her voice trembled at the end, whether from anger or fear of the answer, she didn’t know.

Daniel’s eyes darkened. “Mom, go home.”
