Trash Husband, I'm the Top novel Chapter 341

When Nora woke up, Daniel had just stepped out of the walk-in closet.

He was dressed in a crisp black shirt, tall and lean, his posture straight. When he glanced over at her, his expression was unreadable.

Nora sat up, rubbing her temples. She reached for her phone—she was sure she'd set an alarm.

Maybe it was because she’d barely slept all night and only managed to doze off at dawn. She hadn’t even heard the alarm go off.

She felt a bit anxious about Payne.

Her gaze drifted back to Daniel. She wanted to talk to him about the whole blind date situation between Louis and Judy.

But by the time she got out of bed, washed up, and headed downstairs, Daniel was already gone.

At the dining table, Louis was having breakfast with Payne. When he saw her, he frowned slightly. “Did you and Daniel have a fight?”

Daniel hadn’t exactly been in a good mood when he left.

Nora took a bite of her scrambled eggs, hesitated, then decided to ask, “Did Daniel force you into that date with Judy?”

Louis looked like something had just clicked. “Is that what you two argued about?”

Nora’s tone was serious. “Whatever the case, I don’t want you getting involved with Judy. Her mother… she’s not the easiest person to get along with.”

“I did it willingly.” Louis waited until Payne had run off to play in the living room before answering. “You know how my mother is—she’s been pushing me to settle down. At this point, it almost doesn’t matter who I meet.”

Nora stared at him, genuinely surprised. He did this of his own volition?

Willing enough to consider someone from the Chambers family?

She frowned. “You need to think this through, Louis. Getting married—it’s for life. One wrong step, and you’re stuck.”

Like her, still mired in this mess.

“You’re blaming Daniel for nothing,” Louis explained. “He only mentioned it in passing. I agreed to meet her—it was my choice.”

It was what he wanted.

Since Louis had made up his mind, Nora didn’t press further.

She finished her breakfast and headed to her studio.

There were two custom perfumes that needed tweaking, and with Una’s surgery coming up soon, she’d have to carve out some time to be with her.

After a while, Monica seemed almost embarrassed, but—miraculously—she held her tongue.

She muttered, “You know, Nora, maybe we were family in a past life.”

Nora finally looked up, her gaze calm and steady.

Monica deflated. “I’m here to apologize.”

She turned awkwardly to Una. “I shouldn’t have let Eleanor target you. That was wrong.”

Her eyes flicked to Una’s hand. “And I never should’ve brought her to the old house.”

Una said nothing.

Monica went on, “Look, I always own up when I screw up. But as for the person who used me—I’m not letting them off the hook. Just wait.”

With that, she clicked away in her high heels and swept out of the room.

Una frowned. “What was that about?”

Nora patted her shoulder. “I’ll go find out.”
