Trash Husband, I'm the Top novel Chapter 346

Before long, Nora had already met quite a few people.

Judy, poised and gracious, stayed close to Donna’s side.

Nora glanced over once, then looked away.

She picked up a small cupcake from the table, and after a few bites, her stomach felt a little better.

Just as she was about to mention leaving, Donna walked over with Judy in tow.

Before Nora could say a word, Donna handed her phone back to her.

“Aurora, your aunt only took your phone for your own good. You’re expecting, after all—it’s best to avoid screens. The radiation isn’t good for the baby.”

She made it sound perfectly reasonable and selfless.

Expressionless, Nora took her phone. “That’s not what you said earlier.”

Donna didn’t seem the least bit worried about Nora complaining. “I really had no choice. This day is so important for Judy. Having you two here means the world to her—a huge encouragement.”

“Aurora, your aunt will make it up to you. I wouldn’t let you come all this way for nothing.”

Donna smiled sweetly, as if Nora had been desperate for her so-called compensation.

Nora didn’t bother arguing. No matter what she said, Donna would always twist it into something that suited her own narrative.

Honestly, talking to someone like that was exhausting—it was like speaking two different languages.

Judy, ever the diplomat, jumped in right on cue. “Nora, thank you both so much for coming.”

Nora tugged on Daniel’s sleeve. “Can we go now?”

Daniel squeezed her hand. “Let’s wait a little longer.”

Nora frowned, clearly annoyed.

Daniel leaned down and murmured, “Louis is coming.”

Immediately, Nora remembered what Louis had mentioned that morning about a blind date. If he was showing up here, she guessed it had to do with meeting Judy.

Her urge to leave faded.

“All right.”

As soon as she spoke, Louis appeared.

His tall, striking figure immediately caught Judy’s eye.

“Do you like him?” Donna’s tone was suddenly serious.

Judy answered honestly, without hesitation. “Yes, I do.”

“No.” Donna’s face hardened; she barely gave Judy a chance to finish before rejecting the idea outright.

Her reaction was so intense that Judy couldn’t help but laugh. “Mom, we were just classmates. Sure, I liked him, but he never felt the same way.”

After being turned down, Judy had kept her distance from Louis.

Even seeing him again today brought a flutter to her heart, but she wasn’t about to lose her head over him.

Donna seemed slightly reassured.

She gave Judy a pointed reminder. “Your focus right now should be on getting the fragrance division up and running. When he comes back, it’ll be yours to hand over.”

Judy’s expression fell. “I know.”

She’d always known her mother intended to leave everything to him.

Still, it stung a little.

She just didn’t dare say it out loud—she didn’t want another argument.
