Trash Husband, I'm the Top novel Chapter 363

Nora didn’t bother to hide her irritation.

Eleanor, tears streaming down her face, snapped back in defiance. “You’re right. He got hurt because of me. It’s only right that I take care of him. You can leave now.”

“That’s enough.” Daniel’s voice cut through the tension, sharp and commanding. “This isn’t your place to speak, Eleanor.”

Eleanor looked wounded. “Dan—”

But Daniel ignored her, his dark eyes fixed on Nora. “Aurora, come here.”

Nora didn’t move.

Daniel turned to Hans. “Take Eleanor out of here.”

Hans stepped forward, shot a glance at Nora, then pulled Eleanor away.

Eleanor struggled against his grip, calling back to Nora, “I’m his sister. Of course he helps me—it’s what family does! You don’t need to act like we’ve wronged you…”

Her voice faded as she was led out of the hospital room, swallowed by the quiet of the hallway.

Nora’s expression didn’t change. She looked at them as if they were strangers passing by.

Daniel braced himself on his elbows and sat up, still looking pale and shaken, a few scrapes marring his face. He looked utterly spent.

He started to explain. “Yesterday, after Eleanor found out Una had returned to the Cooper family, she had a huge fight with Hans and ran off. She was devastated—that’s why she called me. She’s my sister. I couldn’t just leave her.”

Nora stood by the bedside, looking at Daniel’s battered face. He seemed so vulnerable, but what did his injuries have to do with her?

“Daniel, she’s your sister. If you want to risk your life for her, that’s your choice. But you shouldn’t have expected me to take care of you just because of what happened. That’s not my responsibility, is it?”

Her voice was steady, calm—almost cold.

“Aurora, I’m sorry.” Daniel’s regret was genuine, heavy in his tone.

When the car spun out yesterday, all he could think about was Nora. If he died, what would happen to her? To their child?

If Daniel had died for Eleanor’s sake, that would have been his own choice—no one else’s. He would have deserved it.

But still, she couldn’t help feeling hurt.

Daniel always said he wanted to get back together, that he’d put her and their child first. But when it counted most, he’d rushed out into a storm for his sister, not for them.

Eleanor would always come first.

And now, his apology just felt like a cruel joke.

Nora started toward the elevators. As the doors slid open, a commotion spilled out—shouts, angry words, and desperate pleas.

Mrs. Chambers had Eleanor by the hair, dragging her out of the elevator. “You little brat! Married and still causing trouble—Dan’s in the hospital because of you, and you have the nerve to show your face here? I swear, I’m going to teach you a lesson you’ll never forget!”

Mrs. Chambers had finally reached her breaking point, old grievances boiling over.

She’d spent years guarding her family from Brian’s secret children, never imagining such a disaster would slip through the cracks.
