Trash Husband, I'm the Top novel Chapter 376

Nora didn’t reply.

No matter how you looked at it, Eleanor was at least a suspect in Una’s death.

“Daniel, the only reason you asked me to come back was because of Una. Now that she’s gone, whatever we had is over.”

She met Daniel’s eyes, her voice calm and unwavering.

With Una out of the picture, there was no reason to keep tying herself to him.

Daniel’s lips parted, as if he wanted to ask her to stay, but the words died before they could leave his mouth.

Because Nora was right.

He had blackmailed her, used Una as leverage to force her into remarrying him.

Now, the one weakness he could exploit was gone.

Unless… Unless he could find Una.

“I’ll make arrangements for Payne and me to move out of North Manor as soon as possible,” she said.

“Aurora, does it really have to be this way?” Daniel’s hands clenched into fists at his sides.

The time they’d spent together after getting back together had actually been… good. They’d learned how to be around each other, found a kind of peace. They could have kept going.

But Nora shook her head. “I never wanted to marry you in the first place. This was always where we were headed.”

With that, she turned and walked toward the car.

Inside, Eleanor sat stiffly, her face set in a pout that just barely covered her sneer.

“I told you already—Una took her own life. I had nothing to do with it.”

Nora’s laugh was cold. “There’s justice in this world, Eleanor. Don’t look so smug. Whether Una jumped or whether you pushed her, you know the truth.”

“Oh, I know plenty,” Eleanor said with a sly smile. “And I know you’re recording this on your phone. Don’t bother trying to trip me up.”

As long as there was no proof, she could just keep denying it. It would be ruled an accident.

Nora’s fingers tightened around the phone in her pocket. She was recording, but Eleanor was too careful.

Nora.

Everyone circled around Nora.

Hans and Daniel aside, even Donna was telling her to play nice with Nora. Judy wanted her to hand the perfume division back to Nora as well.

But all of this, every last bit, should have been hers.

Eleanor’s.

Nora had stolen everything.

That bitch.

Nora leaned back in her seat, exhaustion washing over her. She closed her eyes, resting her head against the window, and slowly drifted off to sleep.

When she woke, she was back in her bedroom at North Manor.

The dim light in the room offered a brief moment of peace.
