Twin Cupids at Work: Daddy, Come Home! novel Chapter 80

“What’s up?”

“How do you feel about Uncle Casey?”

Madeline froze for a second. “What do you mean?”

“Uncle Casey has a crush on you.”

Those words from Oliver almost made Madeline drop her mug. That was hilarious. She’d be grateful if he could just stop making her life miserable.

“Don’t go making things up, kiddo.”

“I’m not making it up. I saw him writing you love letters. He hides them all in this black box.”

Madeline stared at her son, speechless. Casey, Mr. Knife-or-Gun, writing love letters? That was a new one.

“If you don’t like Uncle Casey, Mommy, do you like Julian?”

Madeline’s lips twitched. “I used to. Not anymore.”

“So if you don’t like Julian, does that mean Uncle Casey still has a shot?”

Madeline felt a headache coming on. “Oliver, are you secretly the world’s most curious kid or something?”

“I just want to know.”

The past couple of days, Oliver had realized his bad dad wasn’t that bad after all. Still, he liked Uncle Casey better. Sure, Casey could be grumpy, but he was always good to Mom.

“Mommy, if you had to pick between Julian and Uncle Casey, just one, who would you choose?”

Madeline arched an eyebrow. “Are you trying to drive me crazy tonight?”
