Blythe said softly, "Let us take care of the kids while you're busy. Once you're done, you can pick them up."
Verena looked at the two of them, insisting on taking the children out to eat, realizing she couldn't possibly leave the children behind.
With a sense of resignation, she got into the car.
...
As she was sitting in the car, she messaged Drusilla.
[I'm sorry, Drusilla. Blythe insists on taking us out for dinner.]
Drusilla, who was still waiting at the daycare, had already seen them get into the car.
She had plans to move after picking up the kids, but now… Blythe and Lilith had completely thrown her plans into disarray!
Wanting to ease Drusilla's worries, Verena reassured her.
[I've got this. Why don't you head back first? I'll bring Colton and Cormac back home safely.]
[Are you sure?]
Drusilla was understandably worried. Now that it was confirmed that Colton and Cormac were part of the Taylor family, would Blythe think of just taking the kids away?
Reading Drusilla's message and glancing at Blythe, who was constantly watching the kids, Verena wasn't so sure anymore.
Lilith took the passenger seat while Blythe, along with the two kids and Verena, settled in the back.
Blythe turned to the two youngsters and asked, "Colton, Cormac, what would you like for dinner? Grandma's treat, how does that sound?"
Colton, sitting beside her, remained silent. He missed his mom's cooking.
However Verena had told him that when they were out, he couldn't mention his mom and had to pretend Verena was their mother.
So, he chose to stay quiet.
Blythe answered, "The last time I saw them at the hospital, their hats had the daycare's name on them."
After a bit of research, she found out.
Hearing this, Verena internally panicked, admiring Blythe's attention to detail.
Blythe then asked, "Has Enoch come looking for you?"
At the mention of Enoch, Verena frowned. "Don't even start. He's talking about getting a lawyer to sue me!"
That had angered her for the entire day, feeling it was so unfair to Drusilla. She wasn't the kids' mother, so she wasn't worried for herself, but if Enoch treated Drusilla the same way in the future, that would be pitiful.
First, dealing with Harlan and now Enoch's threats!
Seeing how worked up Verena was, Blythe asked, "What's all this about?"
Verena, with no reservations in front of Blythe, vented, "The kids are mine. If you don't want them, fine, but suing us? Do you think we're just common folks you can push around?"
